Twenty One
Emma’s POV- October 2014
My eyes snapped open when I heard a groan come for Filip. Angie smiled and threw the blanket over Filip’s body.
“Stop”
She laughed because he said it in his tired voice.
“Aren’t you cold?”
Filip shifted and sat up.
“No”
“He’s always warm” I said.
Filip looked at me and nodded.
“What Emma said”
Angie nodded and looked at me.
“You guys got back late last night”
Filip moved a bit and adjusted his head on my shoulder. He loved cuddling, and his body was incredibly warm all the time so there was no need to sleep with many blankets.
“You should have come out with us”
She looked at Filip and he frowned when she told him to put on clothes.
“Story time?” I asked.
She nodded and I sat up. She sat on the bed and pushed her hair back.
“So as I was saying, James and I used to sleep with each other”
Filip’s eyes widened and she looked at him.
“Yup, he was a total fuckboy though”
“When did you stop sleeping with him?” I asked.
She laughed and looked at her lap.
“When I told him I was pregnant”
Filip’s eyes got even bigger.
“This doesn’t leave the room”
He nodded and I followed.
“It won’t” I said.
She nodded and sighed.
“I found out I was pregnant and I told him. He tossed me money and told me to get rid of it. I told him no, and he told me to never bother speaking to him again because I wasn’t about to ruin his career. He kicked me out of his apartment and he was traded a week later”
“What about the baby?”
She looked at Filip.
“I didn’t get abortion, I miscarried the day he was traded”
“Does anyone know about this?” I asked.
“Mason”
I nodded and she let out a shrug.
“I wasn’t ready to have a kid though, but it’s still sad and scary that I can’t hold a baby”
Filip frowned a bit.
“You don’t know that”
She looked at him.
“The birth control I was on when I was sleeping with James did a lot of damage. It’s going to be incredibly hard to have a baby when I want to”
He raised an eyebrow.
“There are other ways Ange”
She nodded slowly.
“I know, but it’s still scary. Guys have it easy; they hit it and quit it when they want to. The ladies are the ones that have to clean up the mess”
Filip nodded.
“Those guys aren’t guys though. They’re cowards and obviously should never be parents”
Angie smiled and looked at him.
“Got an older brother?”
He laughed and shook his head.
“Younger”
She laughed.
“Such a shame”
“How was dinner with Jamie?” I asked.
She nodded and Filip raised an eyebrow.
“How do you know Jamie Benn?”
Angie rubbed her arm as she looked at Filip.
“He plays for the Stars, and I was a sous chef at a restaurant he would go to quite often”
Filip nodded and looked at me.
“Did James not know you play soccer?”
She smiled and shook her head.
“What would have happened to your career?”
She shook her head.
“Nothing, I was going to still play soccer. I would have been a single mom, and he or she would have gone everywhere I went”
Filip nodded at her and smiled.
“He’s an idiot”
I nodded agreeing and he touched her hand.
“You’ll find a guy”
She looked at him and hugged him lightly. She told him something and he nodded as he squeezed her a bit.
“So um, I’m going to make breakfast. Feel free to invite your teammate”
I looked at Filip.
“59” I said.
He raised an eyebrow and looked at Angie who rolled her eyes.
“Roman?”
He looked at me.
“Angie thinks he’s hot” I said making him laugh.
“Of course she does, I’ll invite him and Seth to breakfast”
I smiled.
“I like Seth, he knows how to dance” I said.
He laughed as he tapped away on his phone.
“He likes you as well, said we should go out with them more often”
After the game, Filip and I went out with some of the younger guys on the team. James decided to join us, but ditched us for a girl.
“We should, I like your teammates. You get tired too fast” I told him.
He laughed and Angie looked at us.
“We went to a club”
She nodded slowly and smiled.
“Yea, this one loves dancing”
Filip nodded and looked at her.
“How many people?”
“Invite your cute Swedes”
He nodded and tapped away.
“Swedish men are so attractive”
He laughed when she pinched his cheeks. Needless to say, breakfast was nice because the whole dining table was full with people. The guys loved her food, we even took a few pictures with my camera because Angie insisted we take pictures because memories.
