"Perrie, you don't need to be nervous."

Perrie couldn’t deny the fact that she was nervous about meeting Dylan. Her palms were so sweaty they could fill a pool and her beat was sporadic. She didn’t know if it was the fact that he was unbelievably gorgeous or that he was just so charming, but Perrie was being thrown for a loop.

When she arrived at the restaurant, she spotted Dylan standing right outside in a button up shirt and a pair of slacks. He looked so handsome with his head held up high and his hands stuffed deep into his pockets, and it only made Perrie’s heart race faster as she approached him.

He spotted her walking across the parking lot immediately and met her half way, greeting her with his brilliant smile.

“Perrie,” he said, his smile widening as he spoke. “You look beautiful.”

She couldn’t help but blush and look towards the ground, hoping to mask her embarrassment. She always knew that she was decent looking, but hearing him call her beautiful still made her feel as shy as a school girl.

“Thank you,” she whispered, attempting to look up at him with confidence.

He nodded his head and smiled before motioning towards the restaurant in front of them. It was a nice Italian place that Perrie had never heard of before, and she had to admit that it looked expensive. Everyone there was dressed prim and proper, and she was happy that she’d wore a nice dress she had picked up at work.

After the hostess seated them in the back, their orders were taken and their waiter brought out a bottle of wine. Perrie had never been much of a drinker, but she knew a glass of wine with dinner wouldn’t hurt, so she accepted it with a smile when Dylan poured her a glass.

“How was your day?” he asked, making small talk as he took a sip of his wine. Honestly, her day was boring, and she was certain that he didn’t want to listen to her talk about all the annoying customers she had, so she kept it short and sweet.

“It was good,” she said, her voice cracking as she spoke. She immediately wanted to slap herself, because she’d already done something to embarrass herself. It was obvious he noticed too, but she cleared her throat to try to hide it. “How was yours?”

“It was good,” he said, a smile falling to his face. He paused for a moment, taking another sip from his glass, and when he finished he leaned forward and placed his elbows on the table. “Perrie, you don’t need to be so nervous.”

Perrie could feel the heat flow directly to her cheeks and was certain that it was impossible to hide her embarrassment now. She tried, though, and shook her head gently. “Oh, I’m not.”

Dylan chuckled, his smile widening. “That’s good then.”

Nodding her head, Perrie bit her lip before taking a sip from her wine glass. If there was ever a time for a bit of alcohol, this was it, because she was almost certain there was no way that she could embarrass herself any further. After her drink, she let go of her lip and spoke again.

“What if I was nervous?” she asked, a faint smile on her lips as she set down her glass. She could tell by the way he looked at her that she had said something at least halfway right and was extremely pleased with herself for the silliest of reasons.

Dylan shrugged while he raised up his eyebrows. “I guess that would mean you liked me, wouldn’t it?”

Perrie couldn’t help but let out a small laugh, because he just looked so calm and confident that it seemed unreal. Really, it wasn’t fair that one person could remain cool in any situation, and it seemed like Dylan always was.

“I guess it would,” she said, looking to the ground to try to mask her embarrassment. She was just getting things back on track and refused to let herself mess it up again.

Luckily, Perrie managed to make her way through the rest of the dinner without completely embarrassing herself, which she was certain she would do when she began eating. She ate her pasta without spilling any on herself and pushed through a glass of wine without getting the hiccups. She even managed to have a continuous conversation with Dylan, which was an accomplishment on its own.

When Dylan had paid for their dinner and the two of them began walking out of the restaurant, all Perrie could think about was ending the night without messing anything up. She wasn’t sure if Dylan was going to ask her to go somewhere else or if he’d try to kiss her goodnight, but she was trying to prepare herself for everything.

They arrived at her car in just a few nerve wrecking moments, and Perrie could feel her palms growing sweaty again. Dylan looked down at her with a smile, the moonlight hitting his perfect face.

“Are you nervous now?” he asked, his lips turning up into a smirk. It was obvious he knew that she was, but she didn’t want to admit it.

She shook her head, forcing herself to give him a playful smile. He chuckled at her and reached down for her hand. The moment their skin touched, Perrie felt like she was on fire and thought she might pass out from how quickly her heart was racing.

“How about now?” he asked, his already wide grin growing wider. Perrie blinked her eyes quickly, wondering how far his little game was going to go, and took a deep breath.

She gave another shake of her head, this time more slowly than before.

Before Perrie knew what was happening, Dylan was leaning forward until his face was just inches from hers. She could feel his warm breath on her lips and it became more difficult for her to swallow.

Her eyes fell shut without her meaning for them to, and the moment they did, Dylan’s lips were pressed against hers. He felt so soft yet so rough at the same time, and all Perrie could do was melt into him, because he was just such a brilliant kisser.

Kissing Dylan felt so wonderful that Perrie never wanted it to end, but when it did, the smile on Dylan’s face was almost just as good.
