"High functioning" Ellery Victors is on a journey, one to learn about who she is, moreover, what she is. As a child, her genome was altered by result of her parent's experiments. Now, she's left with wading through the uncertainty of the full effects her mutated genes, without family or friends.
Seeking out the help of one Tony Stark through an internship with Stark Industries, Ellery comes to meet the Avengers. The inevitable happens, disaster strikes and Ellery is given an opportunity to learn about a group just as out of place as she. What she comes to realise is that the band of freaks of nature and exceptional beings can bring a clarity to her life that Ellery wasn't aware she needed.
