I Guess You Can Call These...

She’s Got A Boyfriend Now!

We were seventeen and invincible.
Prom king and prom queen.
I had the world figured out and she always told that everything was going to be alright. And I believed her.
We walked down the hallway together with our arms around each other and our hand in each other back pockets.
Life was good. Everything was good.
My band and I decided that in the summer we were going to take a trip out to LA.
She didn’t want me to go, but I promised that I would be back.
She saw us off and wished us good luck.
I stole one last kiss from her before getting into the car.
The band and I stayed longer than we planed. We got a business deal.
So much for going back to Boston.
The band and I instantly became big and everyone knew us.
And so did she.
She went off to college somewhere in Ohio.
We wrote letters back and forth, but they didn’t last long.
In our last letter she broke it off with me.
There was nothing I could do or say. I tore us apart.
When did the world stop dealing me the right cards?
Years passed and now I’m twenty three and invincible.
I refigured out the world and thinking everything’s going to be alright, but not quite.
She’s got a boyfriend and I’ve got a rock band, this didn’t go the way we planed.
She’s with him in Ohio and I’m on some back road for another show.
Sometimes I wish I could turn this car around and get the love of my life back but it’s too late.
I wish that I could press rewind somehow, cause she’s got a boyfriend now…
