Gabriella’s tribe has been destroyed by a coven of vampires, 7 wolves out of 27 survived. They've been on the run for nearly a year, only having a few hours a night to rest. When two members of the coven caught up with them they were forced into Washington, where they run into a mind-reading vampire who claims that another pack lived nearby.
In Washington, Gabriella finds herself torn between wanting to keep her own pack out of another battle, and wanting to help the La Push pack so they don't suffer a similar fate.
