Avery loved him, she really did. They had been together for a year now and it had been the best year of her life. But lately he had brought up marriage a few times and she wasn’t sure if she was ready for that just yet. She was fresh out of college and had no idea where things were headed. But one thing she was sure of that she wasn’t ready for marriage.

Avery, it’s been a year already. What’s stopping you from getting serious with me? Do you not want to be with me or something?

That’s not the case at all. I just don’t know if marriage is something I want. That’s a huge commitment that I’m not sure if I’m ready for.

If you’re not ready for marriage, then let me know. I don’t want to rush you but I’m not going to wait around Avery. You have a month to decide or we’re over.

And just like that, her life was about to be over before it truly began.
