Small Town Girl

*Chapter 4*

As I was getting ready to pay, I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned to see a fairly attractive man standing there. "Hello, can I help you?" He smirked at me and replied, "Hell yeah you can. I seem to have a problem and I'd love for you to help me with it." He pointed to his jeans. I gave him a disgusted look as his friends laughed. I then smiled politely at him and replied, "I would but from what I can see, there's really nothing there to help you with. Besides I'm here with someone." His friends laughed and his face got red from embarrassment and anger. I tried pushing past him but he blocked my path.

"You little bitch!" He yelled as he slapped me across the face. "Hey! What the hell is wrong with you?" A voice came from behind me and I was suddenly pulled to someone's side. "Honey, are you ok?" The mystery man at my side asked me. I was in slight shock at everything that was happening and at how fast. I slowly nodded and was passed in between the other three guys that I just noticed were standing there. I looked at the man who hit me and almost laughed. The look on his face was priceless. He was shitting bricks. "Hey man, you can have her. She's too innocent for my taste anyway." He looked at me with disgust and I slowly pushed myself closer to the person holding me.

As soon as Mr. Creepy and his friends walked away, all four mystery men turned to me. The man who pulled me from Mr. Creepy asked me again if I was okay. "I'm fine. Thank you guys for helping me." "No problem, Sweetheart." The blonde one with blue eyes replied. Then the man with the grey/blue eyes asked me, "So what's your name? And what are you doing here all by yourself?" There was a slight worried tone in his voice. About that time I realized who they were but didn't say anything at first. I looked around at the four men that saved me and replied, "Well I'm Elizabeth and technically I'm not actually here alone. My friend, however, was being checked out by a girl and I told him to go talk to her. Just my luck right? He goes and finds a cute girl to hook up with while we're in Vegas and I end up having to be saved by four good lookin rockstars from a group of creepy dudes." I rambled.

They chuckled a little and I looked at them. "Sorry. I ramble when I'm nervous." "It's ok. I guess you know who we are already but we were raised to be gentlemen. So intros! I am Brent; Blue Eyes over there is Zach, Grey Eyes is Barry, and Brown Eyes is Eric. It's very nice to meet you, Elizabeth." I shook hands with them and smiled. "Well thanks again for saving me but I think I'm gonna head back to my hotel." "Aww. Do you have to?" Zach asked. I giggled a little. "Well I didn't want to intrude on your night." "We would love it if you'd stay and hang out with us." Brent said. "I'll only stay if it's ok with all of you. I've heard from Zach and Brent. Barry? Eric? Is it ok with you that I stay?" "Of course it is." Barry replied smiling. I looked at Eric and he too had a smile on his face while nodding. I smiled back at them all and agreed. We grabbed our drinks and went to their booth.

"So Elizabeth, where are you from and what brought you to Vegas?" Barry asked over the music. "Well to be honest, you guys did." They all gave me a puzzled look and I giggled. "My mama, Aunt Mel, and my friend Jimmy bought tickets to the concert for me and him. That's why we're here. And to answer your question of where we're from, we're from Kansas." "Oh. That makes sense." Zach laughed. "So Kansas huh? That's cool. We've been there a few times. It's pretty out there. So what do you do?" Brent asked me. "I'm a waitress at my Aunt Mel's diner. "Oh. Cool." "Haha no it's not. I know it's lame but gotta do what you gotta do when you're taking care of someone." Brent looked at me with a weird look on his face. I couldn't place what it was that flashed in his eyes though, so I let it go. "Oh. Taking care some someone? Do you and Jimmy have kids or something?" I looked at him and began giggling. When I finally calmed down I realized they were staring at me confused. I almost laughed again. "Jimmy and I are just friends. And no I don't have kids. I take care of my mama. She got sick when I was 15 and I've been taking care of her ever since. Jimmy has been my best friend since the sandbox." I explained.

This time I caught the look of relief that flashed across Brent's face. "Sorry to hear about your mom. That must be difficult." I nodded sadly. The must have noticed my mood change. Zach then spoke up. "So another drink?" We all rattled off what we wanted and he and Eric went to get them. Once they returned with the drinks we all began talking about anything and everything. We were all having a great time talking and drinking when a song came blaring through the speakers that I couldn't help but dance to in my seat. Zach and Eric noticed and jumped up from their seats, each grabbing one of my hands and pulled me to the dance floor. We were having a blast dancing like the drunk fools we were when Brent and Barry came over and joined us. That's what the rest of the night consisted of. Talking, drinking, dancing, and laughing until all hours of the night.

*Okay so I know that Brent has been clean and sober for years. But for the sake of this story, he had a few drinks in this chapter.*
