The Strange Case of Mr Hyde and His Assistant

“It’s only a couple more blocks from here”Killian said as we walked the sidewalks of the night.
“Alright, thank you….So...you and Emma huh?”I asked smirking.My face was dry now that I had some fresh air and a distraction. I was holding the bracelet in my hands still sad though.
He looked at me surprised and looked away with a frown
“Aye. She’s the one..my true love..but she’s hiding something from me.. She’s been so distant lately...and she won’t talk to me...”Killian said in a frustrated tone.
“Have you tried doing things to her”I said wiggling my eyebrows up and down giggling. He looked down at me in shock
“I’ve never met a girl as blunt as you...are you joking with me?”He asked looking suspicious. I laughed
“I am actually just a really blunt girl but...I was playing a little bit. I need some entertainment walking back”I said with a smirk. He smirked back
“And how about you and your x-boss... Hyde? You and him aye?I don’t know what you see in him..but I was a villain and Emma helped me change my ways..”He asked looking away. My eyes widened and a blush instantly went to my face..my heart thundered and my eyes threatened to burn with tears.
“I see nothing in him!He’s nothing to me anymore…he’s a selfish...stupid...stubborn...jerk”I cursed angrily in a cracked voice.
“I..I’m sorry I didn’t mean to upset you, I was only joking”He said stopping me to see my face.
“You know..it sounds like you and I need a drink..whiskey?”He asked. I smiled
“That actually sounds good right about now”I said honestly.
“To Granny’s then”He said pointing and we crossed the street. We sat down and Granny greeted us
“Whiskey”We both said and laughed. We were there for a couple hours just talking, giving each other relationship advice and getting to know each other.
“Killian you’re a really really great guy..Emma is a very lucky lady”I said smiling
“Are you hitting on me or is that the whiskey talking?”He asked smirking at me. I laughed
“Maybe in another lifetime!Emma is so sweet I’d never betray her like that”I said looking at my cup
“I feel the same...she’s helped me become such a better person than I once was… I just wish she trusted me enough to come talk to me when something is bothering her”He said holding up his hook and staring at it. I wasn’t exactly a lightweight with whiskey. My face was turning red and I was giggling
“She seems like a really strong girl with really strong walls...Hyde is the same way...maybe whatever she’s going through she doesn’t want you or her family to worry? I mean…for the longest time..I didn’t tell Hyde that Jekyll had been experimenting on me just to see if his serums were working… they always ended inconclusive and I would be puking for days...I was scared to tell him… Jekyll was too scared to try new formulas on himself so, he’d use it on me… when he was around I was a prisoner, like Cora wanted, but when Hyde was around….I was just his assistant.. Helping him figure out a separation potion… one day I got really really sick in front of Hyde… I had thrown up in the nearest trash can and there was no hiding it anymore when he saw blood in it… I had to tell him everything...luckily Hyde had figured out everything I had been injected with and found an antidote that made me better...he said if it had been maybe once a week or once a couple weeks it would of never been that bad..but because I was injected with multiple things multiple times a day the combination in my body was killing me from the inside out… I probably would of died that night if Hyde hadn’t whipped up that antidote so quickly”I said running my finger over the rim of the whiskey glass.
“Guess he can’t be all bad if he’s saving lives”Killian said looking down at me
“He’s not bad at all...and Jekyll isn't all that good...he’s just been screwed over so many times he refuses to take a chance with anybody...which is why he’s so content with being locked down there...he hasn’t done anything wrong other than lock you guys up and come here with a lot of people” I said
“He choked me..he almost killed me..and tried to take over the town as soon as he got her...that man is bloody strong”Killian said taking another shot.
“You’re telling me...try being in a room with him when another serum turns into a dead end”I said shaking my head
“Bad temper?”He asked smirking. I laughed
“Literally the worst when he’s working. I’m pretty bad...I have the worst temper out of my brother and I...and yet...in the 5 years I’ve known Hyde...tonight was the first argument we ever got into”I said sadly
“Well he’s a bloody fool. You were his only loyal friend...and he threw you out into the cold”Killian said with an annoyed face. I took another shot of whiskey
“Screw him. He can be friends with his chains”I said as I was feeling the liquor again. I giggled looking over to Killian
“Let’s talk about something happier like did a crock actually eat your hand?”I said giggling as I poked the tip of his hook
“Ow that’s sharp!”I said giggling more making him laugh.
“Aye I see you’re like every other female who can’t handle their liquor”He said smiling down at me
“Am I bleeding?”I asked looking at my finger trying to focus but my one finger looked like 3. Killian took my finger and examined it then let my hand go smirking.
“No, you pulled back pretty quick but let’s not do that again, Aye, Granny can I get some water for the lass?Maybe a sandwich?”Killian asked as I was playing with the string on my jacket
“Have you ever drank before?”He asked
“Yeah!Just haven’t really drank since I was 25”I said giggling as Granny came over with a turkey sandwich and some water.
“Oh thanks I’m starving!”I said as I bit into the sandwich smiling. Just then, Emma walked in.
“Hey, I thought you were taking her home?”Emma asked with a confused smile.
“Aye, we agreed we both needed a drink…thought you needed to be alone”Killian said a little bitterly
“Killian quit being a sour puss and do what I told you to do!She’ll love you more!”I said giggling. Killian closed his eyes and let his head drop
“Do..what?”Emma asked with a small laugh, smiling at how intoxicated I was. Killian laughed
“She thinks if we….y’know….we’ll love each other more and all of our problems will be fixed”Killian said smiling at her.
“Wow,well, I mean she’s not wrong, I'd love you even more in a different way, but I think I’d like to wait a while longer if that’s alright with you Jess”Emma said smirking. I laughed at that
“Yeah,I was just kidding, after that sandwich I’m feeling a little better. I think I know where I’m at now though, so I can walk home”I said smiling
“No way, we’re walking you home”Emma said as I stood and wobbled
“No!II need to give Hyde a piece of my damn mind!”I said angrily as I went to walk but I almost fell
“Woah there!Hyde isn’t going anywhere, trust me, plus a guy like him you’ll just make a fool of yourself. Let’s get you to bed”Emma said helping me stand
“Ugh. Finneeee”I said annoyed and let Killian and Emma take me home. Emma walked me into my room quietly so we didn’t wake anyone.
“You sure you’ll be okay?”Emma asked as I began to change into pajamas not caring she was still there. I changed into black pajama pants and matching top button up shirt.
“Yeah, I’ll be alright. Thanks again. Goodnight Emma”I said smiling
“Sleep well Jess and screw Hyde.He’s a jerk”Emma said smiling at me. I giggled
“Yeah...yeah he is…”I said and with that she left. After that I went to sleep..thinking about Hyde..and how he is a jerk…..
