Sequel: Always and Forever

Hello Beautiful

Chapter Nineteen

We all gathered around the table to eat.

“Joseph, Nicholas, what was the yelling for?” Paul asked them.

“Nothing, dad, it was no big deal,” Nick said quickly.

“It must have been a big deal if you two were yelling at each other,” Paul pushed.

“It wasn’t, everything’s okay, right Nick?” Joe asked.

Nick nodded, “Yeah, everything’s fine,” he said.

I sighed in relief that the subject was being dropped.

After dinner we all helped put the dishes up.

“Nick, you’re doing the dishes tonight,” Denise said looking at Nick as I laughed.

“Mom, but -.” Nick started.

“No, buts just do it,” Denise said kissing his head.

“I’ll help you,” I said looking at him then he smiled.

“Sweetheart, let him do it,” Denise said.

I smiled, “its okay, I want to,” I said with a smile.

“I got to get home, my mom already called,” Nina said looking at me.

“Are you going to come back later or something?” I asked her.

“Yes, she is,” Kevin said answering for her as I laughed.

“I’ll be back tomorrow if not the day after,” she said with a smile.

“Alright, well I’ll walk you out,” I said to her.

“No need, I’ll do it,” Kevin said.

I laughed, “I should have figured that,” I said as I pulled Nina into a hug, “I’ll see you later then.”

“Alright, I’ll text you,” she said as we pulled away.

“Okay, bye,” I said.

“Bye,” she said walking out the kitchen with Kevin.

“Baby, let’s go upstairs and watch a movie or something,” Joe said putting his hands on my waist.

“I told Nick I’d help him with the dishes,” I said to him.

Joe frowned, “Kevin can help him,” he said.

I laughed, “I already offered,” I said, “I’ll be upstairs in a few minutes okay?”

“Fine,” Joe said kissing my cheek and walking out of the kitchen.

“You really don’t have to help me,” Nick said leaning against the counter.

“I know I don’t have to, I want to,” I said looking at him.

He smiled, “Well, then, let’s do this,” he said walking over to the sink as I followed him.

We were in the middle of washing the dishes when he splashed me with water.

“Nicholas Jerry Jonas! I cannot believe you just did that,” I said laughing as he splashed me again.

“Don’t call me Jerry, you know I hate that,” he said laughing also.

I grabbed the spray nozzle and sprayed him with it.

We started laughing uncontrollably and he splashed me with water again, which was followed by me spraying him again.

Nick all of a sudden slipped on the water on the floor and fell.

I couldn’t help but burst into fits of giggles.

“Oh, that’s real nice of you, laugh at me,” he laughed from the floor.

I held out my hand so that I could help him up, but when he grabbed them he pulled me down so that I fell on top of him.

“You punk,” I said as we laughed together.

I heard a voice then say, “Dishes huh,” I looked up and saw Joe standing there.

I got up and helped Nick up also.

“We were doing the dishes, we were just playing around,” Nick said.

“I’m so sure,” Joe said and then he turned and walked out.

Nick sighed, “Go,” he said quietly.

“What?” I said confused.

“Go upstairs with him,” he said.

“We need to finish the dishes,” I said.

“I’ll do them, go with him,” he said.

“You sure?” I asked.

“Yeah,” he said softly.

I nodded and went upstairs to Joe’s room.

“Hey,” I said as I walked in and saw Joe on his bed.

“Hi,” he said looking at me.

I walked over to him and lay next to him.

I wrapped my arm around his stomach and looked up at him, “It really was just dishes,” I said.

“I think he likes you,” Joe said wrapping his arm around me.

“I don’t think so,” I said.

“You just don’t want to think that, because he’s your best friend,” he said.

“That’s exactly how you acted too,” I said, “And we were best friends.”

“Yeah, but I also liked you,” he said.

I shrugged, “I don’t want to talk about it,” I said, “I like you, and that’s it.”

Joe looked at me and smiled, “Okay,” he said leaning down and pressing his lips against mine, “I’m thinking about sleeping in your room tonight.”

“Your mom’s not going to let you,” I said to him.

“I’ll go in there when everyone’s asleep,” he said.

I sighed, “Joe, I don’t want you to get into trouble,” I said looking up at him.

He pecked my lips, “I won’t,” he reassured me.

“Well, I’m going to go take a shower and stuff, you should do the same, you smell,” I said joking.

Joe stuck his tongue out at me as I stood up and we both laughed.

I walked out of Joe’s room and went to take a shower.

After I was done I brushed my teeth and hair, then I put on my pajamas.

I walked back into Joe’s room to find him on his bed playing with my phone in his pajama pants and muscle shirt.

“Um, what do you think you’re doing?” I said walking over to the bed.

“Nothing, I’m just looking through your phone,” he said still playing with it.

I noticed his iPhone on his dresser so I grabbed.

All of a sudden it started ringing.

“Chelsea,” it read.

I smiled and answered it, “Hello?” I said as Joe stood up and walked towards me I mouthed ‘it’s Chelsea’.

Joe shook his head and mouthed ‘Get rid of her’ and I smiled.

“Um, who’s this?” she said.

“Jewel, who’s this?” I asked.

“Oh hi, this is Chelsea, where’s Joe?” she asked.

“He’s right here, but he doesn’t want to talk to you,” I said nicely.

“He hasn’t answered any of my calls since we broke up and I want to know why,” she said rudely.

“Well, I don’t know, but we are together now, so you shouldn’t call anymore,” I said.

“What do you mean together? Your only best friends right?” she asked.

“We were, but things changed,” I said honestly.

“I knew he liked you, he would always deny it,” she said, “Well, okay, tell Joe to call me whenever you two are over.”

“I’ll definitely give him that message,” I said rudely, “Goodbye.”

“Bye,” she said.

I hung up and handed him his phone.

“What did she want,” he said.

I shrugged, “She said to call her when we are over,” I said softly.

He pulled me into a hug, “Not going to happen,” he said.

I looked up at him, “Promise,” I asked.

He nodded, “I swear,” he said and pecked my lips.
