“Okay, Frankie, you have to be really quiet so that they don’t hear us,” I whispered to Frankie.

“Joe stinks at seeking, he won’t ever find us,” Frankie said quietly as we giggled.

I bet you’re wondering why we are whispering, right? Well, we are playing hide & seek, and Frankie and I are hiding in the hallway closet.

“Ugh, I suck at this game!” I heard Joe’s voice.

All of a sudden my phone starting going off.

“Turn it off,” Frankie said quickly.

Crap.

“Wait a second, closets don’t have cell phones,” Joe’s voice said, then all of a sudden the door flew open, “Gotcha!”

“Aww, man!” Frankie frowned.

“Sorry, Frankie,” I said ruffling his hair.

I looked down at the caller ID, “Devyn”, it read.

If you don’t remember who Devyn is, he’s my ex-boyfriend.

I sighed and walked out of the closet, “Hello,” I answered.

“Hey,” he said quietly.

“What do you want?” I said softly.

“To talk,” he said.

“I’m busy,” I said.

“Well, I’m outside your house, could you please come out?” he asked nicely.

“Devyn, why are you outside my house?” I asked.

As soon as I said that Joe starred at me with his arms crossed.

“I want to talk to you,” he said.

I sighed, “Fine, I’ll be out there in a minute,” I said.

“Thank you,” he said.

“Yeah,” I said and hung up.

“You’re really going to go talk to him?” Joe said.

I sighed, “He just wants to talk,” I said softly.

“Who wants to talk?” Nick said as him Nina and Kevin walked in.

“Devyn called her,” Joe said, “He’s outside.”

“I’ll take care of this,” Nina said as she started to go down the stairs.

I grabbed her arm, “No, you won’t,” I said, “I’m just going to talk to him.”

“Why, after what he did, you shouldn’t go talk to that a--, jerk,” Nick said angrily.

“What did he do?” Joe and Kevin said at the same time.

“You didn’t tell them?” Nina said.

“No, I only told you and Nick, I didn’t want Joe finding out,” I said angrily.

“And what about me?” Kevin said.

“You would have talked me into telling Joe,” I yelled, “Thanks a lot, Nick.”

“I’m sorry, but-,” he started.

“What did he do to you,” Joe yelled cutting Nick off.

“Hehitme,” I mumbled.

“What,” Joe and Kevin said.

“He. Hit. Me.” I said slowly.

“Oh, really?” Joe yelled.

I was quiet.

Then the next thing I knew he was halfway down the stairs.

“Joe!” I screamed, “Joe!”

He stopped at the bottom, “I’m going to take care of this,” he said and walked towards.

“Don’t!” I screamed, “Just stay out of it, all of you.”

I walked down the stairs.

“Don’t go talk to him,” Joe said softly.

“It’s just talking that’s it,” I said to him.

“I’m going with you,” he said.

I sighed, “Fine,” I said.

He pulled me into a tight hug and kissed my forhead.

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you,” I said softly.

He shrugged, “We’ll talk about it later,” he said and kissed me on the lips.

Joe and I walked out and Devyn was leaning against his car in front of my house.

“Don’t you dare do or say anything,” I said to Joe before we could be heard by Devyn.

“I don’t promise anything,” Joe said as we walked up to Devyn.

“Hey,” Devyn said opening his arms to hug me.

“I don’t think so, buddy,” Joe said putting his arm around my waist.

Devyn rolled his eyes, “I wanted to talk to Jewel, not you,” he said.

“Well, I wanted to join this little reunion,” Joe said.

“Well, you weren’t invited,” Devyn shot back.

“Stop it,” I said, “Both of you.”

“Sorry,” they both said.

“What did you want to talk about,” I said to Devyn.

“I’m sorry for everything,” Devyn said, “I know I shouldn’t have done the things I did, or said
some of the things that I said.”

“Okay,” I said.

“I miss you,” he said, “I miss you a lot.”

“You came here to ask me back didn’t you?” I said.

He nodded, “Yeah,” he said reaching for my hand.

All of a sudden he was being pushed up against his car, “Try touching her again and you’ll regret it,” Joe said.

“What are you going to do about it pretty boy?” Devyn said looking at Joe.

“I’ll beat the crap out of you,” Joe said starring at him.

“And I’ll help him,” I heard, “And So will we.”

I turned to see Nick, Kevin, Nina and Frankie.

“And I’ll exterminate you,” Frankie said with a water gun in his hand.

I smiled.

“What are you guys going to do huh? Beat me with your guitars and microphones,” Devyn laughed, “Why do you want her anyways? You could have anyone you want.”

I frowned. He hasn’t changed.

*Punch*

I turned around and saw blood dripping from Devyn’s nose.

“I know, she is what I want,” Joe said bringing his wrist down to his side.

My eyes widened and my frown turned back into a smile.

“Whatever, I’m gone,” Devyn said wipping his nose and getting into his car and driving off.

“I’m sorry I hit him,” Joe said softly.

I walked over to him slowly, I pulled his face to mine and kissed him passionately. I knew he was taken back by the kiss because it took him a second to react. I felt his arms on waist and he pulled me closer to his body and kissed me back with just as much passion.

All of a sudden we were being sprayed with water, we pulled apart, “Woah,” Joe said with a huge smile on his face as he starred at me.

I smiled at him and turned to Frankie.

“And as for you, why did you spray us with water?” I said laughing and ran towards him.

“RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!” Frankie screamed, turned around, and ran towards the house laughing.
