Chapter 39 Happy times
Kate arrived at Franks house, it seemed normal and cosy, When Frank answered the door she was like a giddy school girl jumping up and down giving him a hug and laughing like they hadn’t seen each other forever
Walking in she saw Mikey sitting on the sofa staring at her like she had gone crazy “Mikey” Kate said as she ran over to him and gave him a big hug as well.
“So really guys how are you both, I’m so excited , it’s been ages”
“Yeh it has” Mikey said
“Does Gerard know I’m here?”
“Nope” Frank said with a little smile
“I’m sorry you have to keep it from him, I just think it’s the best for me and I don’t want to get his hopes up or nothing”
“He still loves you”Mikey said
“Oh”Kate said a little taken back she didnt want to know that he still loved her cause she still loved him but she thought them not being together was the best thing.
Mikey continued to talk “He say’s he’s moving on but he’s not, sorry Kate I just wanted to let you know, you guys need to be with each other”
“Unfortunately Mikey it doesn’t work like that, I have moved on and am happy where I am with my life at the moment”
Frank could see there was tension so decided to lighten the mood “Anyone for pizza, or beer or beer on pizza or just pizza and maybe beer?”
Kate started to laugh, she looked towards Mikey with a warm smile as if to say maybe one day, maybe one day
So they had pizza and started to talk what they had been up to, Kate explained that she was no longer married and she had been seeing a therapist and she hadn’t spoken to Keisha it just hurt too much though she missed her best friend like crazy, and that she would be going in to the studio to release her first album which she was really excited about, the guys told her about the tour and they had a week off and then would be back on the road again.
Kate was glad that she was able to spend time with her friends, though Mikey wasnt gonna stay the night he was going to see his brother- Kate hated the fact that she was so close to where Gerard was he only lived a 15 minute walk or 5 min car drive, she also made Mikey promise not to tell Gerard she was here, though he didnt want to he respected her wishes.
Now that Kate and Frank were by themselves they didnt know what to do, So Kate spoke “Where’s Jamia?”
“Um...” “What Frankie?” “We are kind of on a break”
“Really why, you guys are so suited to one another”
“Jamia just wanted to see what it was like being single and just being independent cause we have been together for like ever”
“Aww I’m sorry”
“Don’t be sorry we aren’t over we are just having a break and I think we need it so it’s all good”
Kate walked over from where she was sitting and gave Frank a hug.
“Thanks Katie poo”Frank said laughing “I’m glad you have kept your hair dark brown, you still look hot but now you have a tan”
“Fuck you Frankie, tan-shman whatever”Kate said laughing
“You know you want to”
“Ahh I think that’s what you want!”
“Hmm... yeh I think your right”
Kate saw a cushion on the sofa and threw it at Frank where it hit him in the face, she cracked up laughing
“Your so gonna pay for that” Frank said grabbing another cushion and aiming it at Kate but instead it hit the kitchen bench and knocked food everyway
“Good shot dumbass” Kate said now on the floor from laughing to much
Frank couldn’t help himself, he went to the kitchen filled up a glass with water ran back to Kate and poured it all over her
“Now enjoy this Katie” Frank said trying to run away but Kate grabbed his foot where he lost balance and fell on to the floor.
“Bitch I’m gonna kick your ass, putting water on me” Kate said as she jumped on top of him with a slice of cold pizza trying to rub it in to his face
“Don’t you fucking dare” Frank said trying to hold her arms but she kept wriggling once he had her in his grasp, she bit him
“Fuck, you just fucking bit ...” Frank was unable to finish his sentence as Kate smeared the pizza slice across his face
Kate couldn’t contain her self she was in hysterics, she thought it looked so funny that she fell to the floor again laughing
“Katie do I look that funny?” Frankie asked getting on top of Kate with tomato salsa spread over his face, he started to rub his cheeks against her’s so she would have tomato salsa on her face as well
“Frankie stop please” Kate said laughing
“Sorry no can do, your gonna pay girl” Frank said looking in to her eyes
So Kate just poked her tongue out at him, Frank couldn’t contain him self and put his head closer to Kate’s and kissed her on the lips
Kate didnt know what to think and she was lucky as she was saved by the bell, Frank’s mobile phone started to ring and he answered it.
Once Frank had finished he looked towards Kate
“That was Gee”
“Oh”
“He’s gonna be here in a minute”
“Don’t tell me Mikey told him”
“Nah he didnt, Mikey left a video game here that they both wanna play and he’s coming to pick it up”
“What am I going to do, I cant see him Frankie I just cant”
“You can hide in my room till he goes”
“Ok then”
Frank took Kate to his bedroom, once he left she closed the door she couldn’t believe what a mess it was , clothes all over the floor but then she thought that’s Frank for ya.
Back downstairs Frank answered the door, Kate could hear everything, she heard Gerard speak
“Fuck Frank what have you been doin?”
“Me and the pizza we just couldn’t get along”
“Shit your living room looks like a tornado has hit it”
“Yeh that’s what happens when ya cant get along with pizza” Frank said laughing
Kate was thinking just go, just go please but not realising she tripped over something and landed on the floor with a loud thud.
Gerard just looked at Frank “What’s goin on?”
Frank didnt know what to say, he hated lying to his friend but he was doing it for Kate’s sake “It was the pizza, it’s gone wild”
“Bull fucking shit! Do you have a girl up there?” Gerard said with a questioning look
“Ahh Yeh I do” Kate could still hear everything and was thinking please don’t tell him I’m here
“Well I better go then, seeing your having some fun” Gerard said nudging Frank in the ribs
After Gerard had left Frank walked up to his room, where he saw Kate on the floor laughing
“That was fucking close Kate”
“The pizza has gone wild, that’s fucking hilarious”
“Well what did you want me to say, I wasnt expecting you to have a party in my room”
“Sorry I tripped over something” Frank turned the light on and saw that Kate was tangled in with his x-box cable
Kate got off the floor and slid on to Frank’s bed “So where am I sleeping tonight?”
“You can have the floor if you want”
“Very funny Frankie”
“C’mere” Kate said in a sultry voice
“What”
“I have an idea why don’t you let me sleep here and you sleep on the floor”
“How about we share”
“Hmm... Do you promise to be a good boy?”
“Depends if you want me to be”
Deciding to leave the mess that was down stair’s both got in to bed and put on a horror movie on “Have you seen slither?”
“No”
“Cool hope you like slugs then” Frank said with a cackle
Laying next to each other watching the film Frank decided to put his arm around Kate, as he did he could feel her tense up “It’s ok”
“I know”
Kate decided to snuggle in to Frank and watched the movie.
Slowly they both fell asleep cuddling each other and letting the movie continue to play.
