Chapter 14
She opened the door and her heart almost stopped beating. There was a man sitting on one of the beds
She went pale. She was alone, Alex was nowhere to be seen and obviously she didn’t know how to fight. And she didn’t know if he was human. Suddenly she had an idea; she would just pretend she was another person! Maybe he didn’t know who she was.
“Oh! Excuse me; I’m in the wrong room” she said and began to turn around
“Where’s Alexius?” the man asked
“Excuse me?” she was even using a foreign accent
“Where’s Alexius?” he asked again
“Sorry, but I don’t know who might he be, but if you go to the lobby, maybe they can help you, now if you excuse me I must be going” she said politely and turned around
“Lynn!” the man said stern
She flinched, mentally of course!
“Don’t make me ask again where is he, or you won’t like the consequences” he said
This time she flinched visibly “oh Fu—k!” She fastened her pace, but something grabbed her arm, pulled her back to the room and pinned her against the wall beside the door.
“oh shit, oh shit! oh shit!!”
She was so freaked out in the inside, but she refused to show it in the outside. She would try to keep up with her act.
The man smiled “Sweetie, I think your heart want to get out of your ribcage, it’s beating at an incredibly speed, maybe I can help it out”
She gulped, forget her act! She needed to run away from that psycho... but how? In that moment the door busted open and Alex appeared, (Halleluiah!! Angels singing… Ahem right!) He was pointing a gun to the man’s head
“Take your hands off her!” he said with the same deadly poison that the man threatened her. The man backed up and Lynn walked behind Alex.
“Al, we both know that you can do me no harm with that thing” he motioned to the gun
“So this little…Ahem big fella isn’t human” Lynn thought
Alex sighed and put the gun aside. Lynn was shocked, Great!! Was he stupid? How he planned to run away from the enemy if he didn’t have a gun!!
“I think I’m getting used to it” he smiled weakly and went to sit on the bed, leaving her unprotected. What!? Didn’t he saw it; that man tried to kill her!!!
“Where did you get her? I almost doubted for a second. If I haven’t seen her picture I would really thought that I really was in the wrong room” the stranger said
Who he was? It was clearly that he wasn’t considered the enemy, but he didn’t seem that friendly either…Wait! Her picture? Oh! Right, she didn’t remove a single thing from her apartment and apparently that came out to be a bad idea.
“So you two know each other?” she asked closing the door.
“Unfortunately, he’s my brother” Alex said
No wonder why he was so hot… and psycho
“Unfortunately?” his brother asked pretending to be offended “I’m David he said going towards her, sweetness on his voice. He extended his hand at her. She raised and eyebrow
“Do you think I’m going to shake your hand after what you did?” she scoffed. He smiled and walked closer. She didn’t back up, she would show him no fear. She crossed her arms, her face saying what? Suddenly he leaned and kissed her cheek
“Nice to meet you darling”
What the-? Ok, that caught her off guard! She turned as red as a tomato, thanks goodness he didn’t saw her, because he’d turn around already, but Alex saw it and was laughing silently. David took a chair and placed it before his brother. He sat and placed his feet on the bed. Lynn turned around to leave, but Alex stopped her. “Don’t go away, is still not safe”
She sighed “Well, then I’m going to take a bath” A long one! She said going to the bathroom and locking the door behind.
“I like her, too bad she’s human” David said
Lynn rolled her eyes in the bathroom when she heard him. Jerk!
“Awh, come on Alex, she can’t be that bad, don’t tell me you don’t like her around?” she could hear David’s voice say
“I don’t” she heard Alex’s reply
Her jaw dropped. It looks like being a jerk runs in the family. She let the water run, forgetting about the two brothers outside.
Suddenly David’s face went deadly serious
“oh man! You’re still bipolar” Alex said glancing away from him
“you can’t keep going on like this”
Alex’s face darkened “I can’t give it back” he said
“I’m not talking about that… give me your hand” his brother said
“What?” he asked puzzled
“Just give me your hand”
Alex hesitated, but extended his hand. Suddenly David stabbed his hand.
“F—k!! David, What the hell!? The next time you want to make a hole in my hand just say it!!” he grabbed the knife and pulled it out of his hand
“Would you had gave it to me then?” his brother asked sweetly
“Hell no!!”
“Alexius! your hand is bleeding and it’s not healing. Why?” David asked, his face deadly serious
“Of course it’s healing, is just slower” Alex muttered
“You’re too attached to this world, Alexius” his brother only used his full name when he was talking seriously “Now you even bleed and your powers are weakening, you’re not going to last long if this keep going”
“is not a big deal” Alex said
“Now you even speak like them” his brother scoffed “But that’s not why I came here… when you’re going to tell her?”
