For Reasons Unknown

Maya stirred as she felt someone climb into bed next to her. She smiled and turned over to face her two and a half year old son.

“What time is it?” Maya asked opening her eyes to see Stephen lift himself up to take a look at the alarm clock on the night stand.

“It’s a seven then a four and another four.” He said reading the digital numbers.

“Wow, you’ve had a good sleep. You’re getting better at sleeping in your own bed.” Maya replied enthusiastically. Since Brian had gone on tour with Avenged Stephen had been spending a lot of time sleeping in her bed.

“Can I put a sticker on my chart now?” Stephen asked his big brown eyes widening.

“Yeah of course.” Maya replied with a smile as he quickly jumped off the bed. Within minutes he was bouncing back into Maya’s bed, burying himself in the thick duvet.

“When will Daddy be back?” Stephen asked as he snuggled closer to Maya.

“In a couple of hours hopefully.” She said wrapping her arms around her son as best she could with her four and a half month baby bump in the way.

“Let’s get some more sleep before he get’s here shall we?” she said just as the baby gave a kick.

“Mommy. What was that?” Stephen asked obviously feeling it as well.

“I think that was your sister saying good morning.” Maya said putting her hand on her stomach. It was the first proper kick Rachel had given and it was quickly followed by another. Stephen turned around in Maya’s arms and looked down at her bump.

“What’s she doing mommy?” he asked with a confused look on his face.

“She’s kicking.” Maya replied. Stephen’s eyes shot up to look at her.

“But we mustn’t kick” he said shaking his head. Maya couldn’t help but laugh.

“Baby its ok. It’s not like proper kicking. She doesn’t know she’s doing it. It’s a good thing.” She tried to explain, but he just looked up at her with a puzzled look on her face.

“It’s her way of telling me that she’s ok.” Maya added and this time Stephen smiled and nodded.

“Do you want to feel?” she asked and he nodded his head.

Maya took his hand in hers and gently placed it on her stomach where Rachel had been kicking. She smiled as she watched his eyes light up as his sister kicked again.

“When will she come out?” Stephen asked.

“Not for a while yet.” Maya said with a smile.

“When I’m three?” he asked.

“Just before Christmas.” Maya said stroking her son’s hair, watching the expression on his face. Brian could never deny being his father. Stephen had his dark brown eyes, his black hair and his prominent cheekbones and jaw line which were visible even through the little bit of puppy fat he was carrying.

“Will I have to tell Santa about her so that he can bring her toys? I don’t want to share mine with her.” He asked shaking his head, and again Maya giggled.

“No, Santa will know. She’ll have her own presents.” She laughed as Stephen smiled before turning back around and snuggling into Maya’s arms again.

Maya opened her eyes as she felt Stephen get out of bed and run out of the bedroom. She glanced at the clock; 9:47.

“Mommy! Quick! Daddy’s home!” she heard Stephen yell from the corridor. Smiling Maya flung the duvet off her and got out of bed and began to make her way out to the hallway.

“Careful on those stairs!” Maya yelled as she saw Stephen start his way quickly down the stairs towards Brian who was stood at the bottom with his arms open. Maya watched as Stephen got to the third step and lunged into his father’s arms. Brian spun him around before holding him on his hip as they watched Maya walk slowly down the stairs.

“Hey you.” he said as she reached the bottom stair.

“Hey.” She replied as they leaned in towards each other for a kiss.

“I’ve missed you.” he said pulling back from the kiss.

“We’ve missed you too.” Maya replied.

“Daddy, Rachel kicked us just now” Stephen suddenly blurted out as they made their way into the kitchen.

“She’s kicking?” Brian asked smiling between Stephen and Maya. Maya nodded with a smile and placed her hand on her stomach.

“Yeah, for the first time this morning, when Stephen got into bed with me.” Maya said just as Rachel gave her another small kick. Brian saw the look on Maya’s face and quickly placed Stephen firmly on the counter before placing his hands on her stomach. Maya took his hands in hers and moved them to where she’d felt the kick and watched his face as Rachel gave another stronger kick.

“Oh my god” he whispered with a large smile on his face.

“It’s ok Daddy. She’s just telling us she’s ok” Stephen said nodding his head. Brian looked up at him and then at Maya with a puzzled look.

“That’s what I told him. He didn’t understand why it was ok for her to kick me.” Maya explained and Brian nodded, running his hands up her body and kissing her deeply.

“I told Jimmy that we’d be over at about threeish for Kelsey’s birthday party.” Brain said as he pulled out of the kiss.

“We got her a bike!” Stephen yelled excitedly.

“Really?” Brian replied grabbing his son off the counter.

“Yeah, it’s green with a handle so you can push it around.” Stephen explained as Brian winked at Maya and walked with Stephen towards the refrigerator.

“How about we treat your mom to her favourite breakfast?” Brian asked and Stephen nodded.

“Stephen Haner you be careful!” Brian yelled as he and Seth tried to climb the large tree in Jimmy’s garden.

“Babe, he’s fine.” Maya said quietly gently squeezing his hand with a smile.

“Stevie just told me that Rachel started kicking this morning.” Val said rubbing Tia’s back to wind her as Matt continued to bottle feed Noah.

“Yeah, and she’s been none stop ever since.” Maya said rubbing her swollen stomach.

“Just be grateful that there’s only one in there. These two used to batter hell out of my internal organs.” Val said pointing at her two five month old twins with a smile.

“Maya, Kelsey loves that trike you got her, she won’t let us get her out and Jimmy is just pushing her around in it.” Leana said joining them just as Jimmy made his way around the corner of the house pushing his daughter around in the bike as she laughed uncontrollably.

“I thought she’d like it. Stephen loved his as well.” Maya said as Rachel gave her another kick.

“Ok, that one was right on my bladder. I’ll be back now.” Maya said getting up from her chair and slowly making her way into the house.

Just as she was finishing up in the bathroom there was a light tapping on the bathroom door.

“Just one second.” She called back drying her hands.

“Babe, it’s me. Let me in.” Brian’s voice called back from the other side of the door.

With a smile on her face Maya pulled back the small lock on the door. Brian was quickly on the same side of the door as Maya and the lock was hastily put back in place. Then just as quickly Brian’s lips were forcefully pressed against Maya’s.

As Brian’s tongue glided into her mouth Maya’s hands shot to his pants and promptly undid his belt causing his jeans to fall loosely on his hips. She then began to roll the dress she was wearing up around her waist as he began to walk them over towards the small counter where Leana and Jimmy’s toiletries were all neatly arranged.

Brian swiftly lifted Maya up and placed her gently on the edge of the counter and pulled her close to him, her legs wrapping themselves around his waist as she quickly pulled his boxers roughly over his ever impressive erection.

Maya gasped loudly as she felt two of his fingers roughly pull her boy shorts over to one side and quickly thrust into her, massaging her inside for a brief moment before pulling them out and slowly inching himself into her.

“I’ve fucking missed you.” he whispered harshly into her ear as she pulled him closer to her, tugging at his hair.

“I’ve missed you too.” she replied breathlessly as Brian began to thrust quickly into her.

“I really don’t know which one of them is worse” Zack yelled as Maya and Brian walked back into the garden, Brian behind Maya, his arms around her waist, hands resting on her bump.
Maya blushed slightly with a smile as Brian sat down and gently pulled her into his lap.

“I don’t want details; just tell me which room so that I can go disinfect it!” Leana yelled.

“Bathroom. The counter.” Brian said proudly kissing Maya’s cheek.

“Fucking hell Gates. You just can’t keep it in your pants can you?” Johnny yelled.

“Hey, I’m a hot blooded man who’s just spent three months away from his extremely sexy wife! There would be something seriously wrong if I didn’t want to grab every chance I got. You’re all lucky we even left our house today!” Brian replied with a smirk as Maya nodded.

“Yeah, especially as for the past three days I’ve been incredibly horny! If we didn’t have Stephen to worry about, no one would see Brian for the next week” Maya added blushing with every word.

“I think I’ve reached that “Horny all the time” stage of the pregnancy.” Maya added turning to face Brian with a smile. He smirked devilishly back at her.

“Do you think Stephen would like to go spend time with his grandparents?” Brian said quietly into Maya’s ear.

Maya couldn’t help but smile in return. She smiled most of the time these days. And why shouldn’t she? She had an amazing, sexy, loving husband; a big house in Huntington Beach; Had a beautiful son who amazed her everyday with the things he’d come out with and do as well as a daughter on the way; she had some of the best friends in the world living close by and her own business – a bar on PCH that her and Brian had opened about a year ago, where Abi was manager Daniel was the deputy, Austin was the head chef and Sophie and Jem also worked.

Just over five years ago Maya was attacked in an alley way after seeing Avenged Sevenfold play a gig while she was waiting for a taxi. She said back then it had happened for a reason. That it was fate. And now here she was. She couldn’t be happier if she tried. And all because of what happened in that alleyway. This was the reason it happened. It amused Maya to think that something so wonderful had come from something so scary and horrifying.

With a large smile on her face Maya turned to face Brian and placed her lips softly onto his lips.

“I love you Babe.” She whispered, continuing to smile as she looked lovingly into her eyes.

“I love you too. More than anything.” He replied with another kiss.
