Losing Meg
A child all aglow with winter on her mind,
Slid down that white-washed hill
And landed at an ill-fated time.
No longer did the packed snow glisten;
It's purity tainted with muck
And to top it off there lay her doll
Frozen in place and covered by filth.
Ignoring its tear-stained cheeks,
And ever present smile
The maiden wandered away;
Her innocence left behind
Remembered only as an indecent funeral.
