I very much agree with this article. I've got an account on there, and I kind of gave up. I had managed to get some regular readers/commenters, but the complexity of the site drove them away so I had no reason anymore. :P
On the other hand, there is something very notable that they do! They send 'Happy Account Birthday' cards to their members. I'm not kidding. I've got the free membership, and just a few days ago, they sent me a writing.com calendar in the mail. My joined date is circled with a balloon. It's actually a pretty cool calendar, not too shabby, y'know? It made my day. :D

I'm staying true to Mibba ;)
I've been on a lot of writing sites, Mibba is the best of all of them. ♥
That site looks a little... dodgy I guess. And you have to pay, unlike Mibba.
So... MIBBA IT IS!!! ^_^ :D

After reading this review, I have the sudden urge to go and see just how bad this website is....

...if it says negative things, I'm pretty sure that qualifies it as not an advertisement.
And just because something talks about a product/site/etc, that doesn't make it a advertisement; it can also be a review :)

I've never heard of this site...and meh, I don't like stuff with paid memberships. I might check it out, though.

v Exactly. When I joined I was about ten or eleven and I couldn't understand how to do anything on the site. :/ If it had been better organized, like you said, I probably would still be on there.

Delaware: XD I've never gotten a virus from the site, but I agree with everything else. It's definitely too busy and finding a place to start for new members is like trying to navigate a maze. I've had an account there for a few years and every once-in-a-while, I get the urge to try it again (hoping it'll be different or easier) and it never is. The sad thing is, it has so many great features and if it were better organized it would probably be an amazing site.

Yup. It's not an advertisement, it's a review of the site. If you read the whole thing through, you'll see that it's a critique and not an ad.

I don't the mods or admins would let an advertisement through...

Fair play, but still, I still saw it as an advertisement.

Looks like a definite clear advertisement, that has no place here.

This was probably the first site after fanfiction.net that I joined and I absolutely hate it.

It was slow, the page was cluttered, and I didn't even know where to start. I had trouble navigating and there are so many perverted stories on there that it makes you want to vomit. =____=

I just really hate this site overall and I'm pretty sure it gave me a virus... >.>
