Ah, I love fanfiction.net. I've been reading stories on there since I was 14.

I used to use it. But I was so upset when they got rid of RPF and NC-17 rated stories. I hate censorship like that.

I very much liked this. I agree 100%
But it is still 2nd best.
Mibba is a better site...For advice. Chatting. And good feed back.
But what annoys me about Mibba is the 'Silent Readers' hurgg-ahh-derga.
And I never had mush luck on FF.net.
So Ill stick with Mibba.

Well, I'd say mibba is a better place for forming a social+story network but I'd have to agree that you get a hell lot more feedback on FanFiction.net
Plus, the main fanfictions in mibba are more biased towards Ax7 or bands like those... I rarely even find any fanfics about Asian bands and well, there's not a big base of readers for those, but at least there are a lot more in FF.Net than on here.

I agree with midnight ruby. NOt only do you get a LOT more feedback, but it's a reader's haven. A paradise, you could say, to all those who want to express themselves in somthing they love, and for those who want to marvel in the unique and fresh ways which their favourite characters from most shows books and anime etc. can be depicted.

in other words...its AWESOME! xD lol.

I love fanfiction, in fact it's kinda replaced Mibba for me. On Mibba you don't get a lot of feedback on stories, plus most of the stories on this site are about bands, which I don't really care for. On fanfiction it's much easier to find stories in your fandom.

It's very interesting, but I won't be checking it out because I don't enjoy Fan Fiction very much

v I wish the drop down menu of characters had an OC option - I think that would def. help in finding more stories like that.

I rarely read fanfic, but the odd time I do, I get sucked in. D:

The website is too good.

Great Article. I'm still new to Mibba and though I do like the site I tend ot lean more towards FFn. They're what I started with and they've been great.

I personally think that if you want good fanfiction, FanFiction.net is the place to go. Mibba is good for original ficts but it filled with too many annoying JBMs (Jonas brothers/Justin Bieber Masturbater) and most don't properly describe the story so you don't know until you wasted 5 minutes on the story. I rather like the fact, there's a ban on real people. Of the few I've read, they have no base in reality except for looks and name.

I don't like the way they're set up, but that's just me.
I'm sure there are amazing stories on there that I'll never get to read because I'm very picky.
I prefer Mibba, how ever Yakitori has mentioned original fiction, so I'll have to take a peek.

I post on fanfiction.net just as much as I do on mibba, I like posting there more because I'm bound to get more feedback on my stories. It's a good site for fanfiction writers overall.

You make some very good points about FanFiction.Net that I have to agree with. For original fiction, you can go to their sister site FictionPress.net

I adore ff.net.
I've had multiple accounts there, all Harry Potter of course, but I kept forgetting the password and lost so many amazing stories.
I've started a new account recently, after a bought of inspiration, this time making sure to write the password down.
So excited.

I loved this article I think the 'copy + paste' posting that's not allowed is just extra precaution for plagerism and sure, you can still copy and write it out but it would be much more difficult, but unfortunately it also makes updating regular stories harder too

This article was so very well written! I loved it.

I have to agree with all of your points, especially the bashing and flaming one. I used to be big on FF.net, then someone started flaming me for no reason. It nearly caused me to stop writing completely, and I've never been on there since. That was about five years ago. I really think the staff and administrators should do something about it, it's terrible.

I tried FF.net after I found Mibba, but it just didn't compare.
Mibba threw down the writing website gauntlet, and no one has beat it yet.
