Fanfiction.net - Comments

• Very well written (: When I'm not on Mibba, I can be found at Fanfiction.net. It's easily got some of the best work on the internet. The only issue I do have with them is the ban on real-person fiction but *shrugs* It certainly doesn't stop me from reading or posting on there.

• Excellent article. I like how you wrote about the positive and negative aspects of the website instead of just one of them. I completely agree with you on the negative aspects. There are some problems when I upload my documents because they do not save correctly.

There's also the fact that you can't really change the layout and that they're all the same, but that's alright. The stories are awesome and finding what you want is also very easy on that website. The only thing that really annoys me is how some authors make thee characters mary-sue's. Other than that, a wonderful website.

• This article was wonderful. I love the positive and negative points that were added.

I am still uploading stories to the site. I feel that it is the only site I can really post my fanfiction and still get some feedback. I just love it.

• Excellent article, it was written very well. FF.net is where i started posting stories tow years back, and you get a lot of feedback from the readers. It also has a mobile version which helps you read chapters on the go.

• v Thanks. :)

Also, it works on old computers!

That reminds me of something I forgot to mention. Mobile FF.net works great too. It's the only writing site I can easily navigate from my cellphone (searching and everything).

• Excellent article. I'm very glad that you wrote it with both the negative and positive aspects, although the negative ones aren't too bothersome for me (probably just because I DO have the text programs needed and I don't use a lot of bold, italics, etc.). Fanfiction.net is so great for finding stories, too! Being able to narrow the search so much is incredibly helpful, and something I never find on other sites. It has ruined me for other fanfiction sites. :P
Also, it works on old computers! :D Mine is very old (but trusty, it never ever crashes and it loads pretty quickly) and a lot of sites don't load on it, usually fanfiction sites and others like livejournal, but fanfiction.net didn't clog up their site with nifty little obstacles and so it works well!

• ff.net is where I started posting fanfiction about seven years ago, and I love it. I'm still on there with my original account except that I keep getting into new fandoms, writing one or two stories, posting them, and then taking them down once I get uninterested in the fandom. Now I'm into Invader Zim and I've stuck around with it and written four or five fanfics and am working on more. :3

I love the site. The Document Manager is definitely annoying sometimes, and of course the fact that you can't change your layout and that you can't post links, but overall the site is amazing and I adore it. Overrun with Mary-Sue self-inserts, yes, but that's not really the site's fault and you can still find quite a few decent fics around. <3

• I've never posted anything to fanfiction.net, but I do a lot of reading there. Mostly because most of the fandoms I read are book based and there are a lot of stories on there.

I agree with your article. Whilst it isn't particularly author friendly, it is very reader friendly. It's very easy for readers to find their fandom and what characters they want to specifically read about which is my favourite part of it.

• I was there for a while...just after quizilla and before Mibba. I liked it because I could always find something that I looked for (lately I've even found a short story with Michel Vaillant and finding something in this category is hard :D), but I hated the whole process of posting there. I also find the subscription to the author very useful :)
Fanfiction.net lacks something. Otherwise I wouldn't be here.
