lovely article. it seems you really researched your information. As an otaku ( big anime fan) I think your article is informative and presents anime in a positive light

This was a fantastic article :)

I loved the facts, as I didn't really know ANY of that before! I never really assosiated The Last Airbender with Naruto, Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop (all of which I absolutely adore), but now whenever I see it I'll be seeing similarities all over the place. And I've never seen the matrix but it's really interesting how it was based off of Ghost in the Shell.

On a slightly more serious note, despite what everyone else said about you drifting away, I didn't really see it (except for maybe the 'Japanese Walt Disney' thing which was still a fun fact). And someone commented that your closer with 'forgetting the origins' came out of nowhere, but it's obvious that what you meant was that people generally think that Japan was the father and mother of animation, but the truth is that it stems from american animated works.

    Great job :D

Wow great! I never knew any of this, who would have guessed the anime's original influence was American. Very interesting.

Hm, I've never been good at writing reviews so please accept my terrible review. >_<

Anyway, this article is very nicely written. You did drift off from your original point a couple of times but I still found it very entertaining even when you did. You really keep the reader hooked and this article is also very informative. As some one else had stated, Osamu didn't create the first anime.

I think this was interesting and informative, even if you did detour from your original point at times, and I don't know how you arrived at the conclusion that its roots have been forgotten just because the styles have changed. Astroboy is still recognizable and legendary among anime fans, the same way Mickey Mouse is. to anyone with a childhood

Just one note... Osamu Tezuka didn't create the first anime/manga, there was some around in Japan but they didn't have the Osamu 'flare' that we see today. Also Osamu is called "The godfather of anime." You might want to mention Hayou Miyazaki, because all of his anime films are so popular in America and they are distributed by Disney, he is also referred to as "the Japanese Walt Disney." Which he really hates.

Also Japan is the only country to use anime as a way to make porn, I know this is totally irrelevant to the article but I just thought you would like a fun fact. ^^

Loved the article, you did your research really well which is awesome.

Steam Boat Willy is not the first cartoon. It was the first with "full" sound. It not even the first Mickey Mouse animation. Animation is actually in away is older than TV and Film. It also really confusing that you call drawings and animation cartoons. This other comment it not major, more of a pet hate. "as we call them here in the United States". You're online, you shouldn't go by country, but by language you're writing in. All English speaking countries call them Cartoons and animation.
Besides these errors, it was well written and interesting.
