    Nice article! Very interesting.
I would've never guess that's how slash started.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of slash. Actually, I'm not a big fan of romance so I guess it's more a distaste for romance in general. I like it better when there's applied relationship and not a story that centers around it and builds towards that relationship, gay, bi, or het, doesn't matter.

But, that was a good article and a good bit of information on where that came from because I always did wonder why in the world the term slash was used to describe that.

This was very well-written, but I thought you could have included a lot more especially on the part about reasons why people read/write slash. Just listing that one reason, which honestly I don't even think is one of the top reasons (in my opinion) really leaves the reader uninformed.
I have always wondered about where slash came from so this was very interesting. I often ask my friends how they got into slash. Another thing the article could mention is whether or not there is any relation between yaoi (in anime) and slash like which came first ect.

You forgot to mention the fact that most slash fans and slash writers are often women due to the fact that is an extremely common fetish (straight guys=lesbians, straight women=gay dudes).
Not discriminating da guy slash writers.
    But very informative, thank you.

Very informative article! I'm glad to say I now know where slash comes from. And a bit off topic, sadly, when I clicked the article I thought the picture was of a Obama/Paul Ryan fic of some sort.

Interesting article! I'd always wondered about it myself.

Nice article, short and to the point. I've been reading slash for maybe like three months now (it's gotten to the point where I can barely read hetero let alone write it) and I had no idea how it started. I thought it was popular on a site like Tumblr, but I didn't think it was popular here. At least in the fandom I "belong" to. No one on Mibba writes slash hockey rpf, which is fine because there is loads of it on ao3, I just always find it interesting that 80% of the hockey rpf writers here haven't dabbled into it considering how many ships there are in this fandom.

How ironic, a couple days ago I was asking myself where slash has originated from, then this article pops up :) wow, I wouldn't have ever guessed it'd to be Star Trek or Starsky and Hutch lol. I suppose it'd make sense though, just still a bit funny like SabinaTanzola mentioned. I know my friend wrote KISS fanfiction, not sure if it was slash or not though. Just a bit cool to see that fanfiction goes way beyond the modern bands we write about now. Cool article.

This is rather interesting to me. A few years ago I used to write/read slash. XD I don't anymore seeing that as a writer, I like to write about the opposite sex being together and therefore, I would like to read what i write. Nice article. It did make me giggle a little finding out that it came from Star Trek. I guess that should have almost been a given since it was and seems to still be a very popular fandom.
