Yes these girls are beautiful, but I honestly feel like my ed is one of the most beautiful parts of myself. People may find that sad, but it's taught me so much. At the same time, it's hell and I know I'll never fully recover. I think this article is unrealistic and it makes society think eating disorders are a choice too look good. It's not always physical, but thanks for informing all the idiots and breaking down some stereotypes. Great article!

The Girls In The Picture Aren’t That Big =/

I Personally Think They Are Looking Fierce And Spicy! =P lol

If I Was A Guy, I’d So Go For Girls That look Like Them =]

    Real Women Have Real Curves.

    QUOTES:

It's important for all types of women to know that you don't have to fit a prototype of what one person thinks is beautiful in order to be beautiful or feel beautiful.... People think, Sexy, big breasts, curvy body, no cellulite. It's not that. Take the girl at the beach with the cellulite legs, wearing her bathing suit the way she likes it, walking with a certain air, comfortable with herself. That woman is sexy. Then you see the perfect girl who's really thin, tugging at her bathing suit, wondering how her hair looks. That's not sexy. - JENNIFER LOPEZ, Readers Digest, Aug. 2003

It is foolish to wish for beauty. Sensible people never either desire it for themselves or care about it in others. If the mind be but well cultivated, and the heart well disposed, no one ever cares for the exterior. - ANNE BRONTE, Agnes Grey

What do I care if you are good? Be beautiful! and be sad! - CHARLES BAUDELAIRE, Flowers of Evil

Most people tend to think the best of those who are blessed with beauty; we have difficulty imagining that physical perfection can conceal twisted emotions or a damaged mind. - DEAN KOONTZ, Odd Thomas

I don't have a disorder of any kind, but I do have weight issues. I'm not fat nor am I skinny. It's not the media that influences these thoughts of mine, it's the environment and my intake on it. When I see girls stick skinny, it's hard to look at yourself in the mirror everyday and say, "I am beautiful". Especially when the stick skinny girls get the male attention.

I had a lot of weight issues when I was younger. I was actually very chubby. But then the idea of being skinny just became the only thought I had.

I turned into an anorexic. Around grade 6, I started to eat less, and less, until I began missing meals and so forth. So that my parents would never notice, I ate dinner very slowly and volunteered to clear the table. Then I would throw away at leas 85% of my food, which wasn't even a lot to begin with. I became unhealthily thin, and would not listen to my peers when they tried to stop me. That went on for about a year or so. Then I got sick with the German Measles. I dropped even more weight because I felt so horrible. When I got better, I was forced to eat, and I am much better now. When I look back at those times, the pictures freak me out. My cheeks were actually caved-in and you could almost see my bones. I remember thinking though, "Not skinny enough. Need to be skinnier."

Sure, now I am at a healthy weight, but I still wish sometimes that I could be skinnier than I am. Drop a few pounds here an there, but all my friends and family watch what I eat, and make sure I do. So at least I know I have people who care and look out for me.

    Excellent article.
"55% think men rate looks as the most attractive thing in a woman: only 1% said intelligence"
I think that. Is it true?

I know my body is growing still but my weight has gone up and it doesn't seem right for a girl my age.

im a size 5 and im totally fine with how i look. i rather enjoy my hourglass figure. but i never had to starve myself or work out for it. the major deciding factor on what shape your body is is genetics. if your naturally big, then that's fine and its most likely the most healthy weight for you. if your naturally a size minus 3, thats fine as well. but what bugs me is when overweight people get the idea that its okay to be overweight and as such, dont eat a healthy diet, dont exercise and become unhealthy. i would like to see much more average women in the fashion magazines my mom buys.

Very informative, but I didn't really take it for much of an article. It read more like an encyclopedia entry.
