    that's really fucking gross.
really, I'm starting to think that PETA and their supporters are blind. dude, OUR ECONOMY IS IN ITS WORST STATE SINCE THE DEPRESSION. HAVE THEY NOT NOTICED THAT YET?!! if they stop buying farmers' milk, business slows. if it slows down too much, jobs will be cut back, possibly shutting down the plant. and really, if buyers aren't careful, the mother could have an STD or some other harmful disease that would infect others who ate the ice cream. and really, i don't want to be eating some stranger's titty milk.

ok, I'm veg and I think animals should be treated with respect, but useing breast milk is just way too extreme for me.
if they want to have certin ice cream made from breast milk, be my guest, but I'm not eating that shit!
I like ben and jerry's and I'm not having crazy PETA runing my ice cream!
They should use Omish Farm milk! They DO NOT abouse the cows! and it's a lot more healthyer then factory farm milk!!
Awesome artical by the way! :D

    Hmm interesting topic.
    Good article, too.
I think it's a good idea to use human breast milk; it makes sense. If we can use cow milk why not use human milk?
but then again, it would have a huge effect on the economy.
It's definately a subject that should be looked into, however.

    good work (Y)

I agree with about everything you said, but the farms. Farms, sure, they most likely don't abuse cows. But companys like Ben and Jerry's buy their milk from huge factories, who really do abuse the anmals.

Okay Peta saying to use breast milk instead of cow's milk is just a publicity stunt. They are not serious about it, it's just to spread the word about the mistreatment some cows go through. Not all cows are raised and milked in poor conditions, its usually big companies that try to get as much as they can for as little as possible.

I'm pretty sure they weren't serious about the whole human breast milk thing, they were just pointing out that it's equally rediculous to take away the nourishment that is meant for their calves. You people say that it's a ridiculous idea to use the milk of a human because it's needed for nourishment, but you fail to see that that is exactly what is happening to cows. They produce milk for their young, not for us.

crappyloveballad, but drinking milk that is meant for a calf is natural? You wouldn't wanted anything besides a baby drinking human breast milk, so why is it all right to drink breast milk from another animal?

We would never have to worry about massive numbers of cows rooming the streets if we didn't mass produce them to be used for dairy and eventually slaughtered.

Well I think the big problem with some poorer dairy farms is that the female cow always has to be pregnant for it to produce milk. Sometimes the bbad part is when a male calf is born and there isn't the money to take care of it or if it is sick to make it well. Not every dairy farm follows guidelines or humane practices. Which is a shame because it inspires such extreme forces like PETA to crucify all dairy farms for one airy farms ill doings.

Thank you all for your comments.
    =]
My biology teacher read us an article about it the day after the letter was sent out. We all found it quite amusing.

And the whole "abusing" cows thing...well...how do you really "abuse" a cow? The cows have a HUGE barn with plenty of space for shelter. HUGE amounts of acres for grazing(and excercise if you want to get really logical). They're properly fed(even if a farmer forgets to feed them, they have plenty of grass to go nibble on in the pasture) and they're properly watered. Really, I'm still confused as to how you abuse a cow, unless not giving it a hoof massage every morning and night is abusing it?

But once again, thank you. Reading all of your opinions really made me smile. =D

Ummmmm....there are people who can breastfeed and they need the milk for their own kids and they have to buy it from other poeple. IT"S WICKED EXPENSIVE!!!

I'd rather give them mildk to babies who need it rather than use it to make icecream or something.

plus, I just think that's a little strange. Your not relaly even supposed to drink that much human milk after you turn like.... five.

regardless of what his would do for the cow and it's calf, although i am convinced that milking the cows for ice cream and stuff isn't bad for them, the thought of consuming ice cream or any other dairy product containing breast milk sickens me...*shudders* i mean, it's one thing when you're a baby but...eww...also, dairy products are good for you, the only reason you would get juvenile diabetes and all that is if you're constantly consuming it. taking out the cow's milk won't make any difference.

XD PETA's not to bright right about now. If cows don't get the friggin' milk out of their udders in time it can severely damage the cows. If people stopped using dairy cows and started using women's breasts (EW FUCKING EW BTW) then we'll have a bunch of hurting cows. The milk machines don't the goddamn things okay? PETA YOU BEST DO YOUR RESEARCH. Good article though, I liked how you presented you resources and shizzle. XD
