    It's been devalued to 616,
    but also,
There are no numbers in Hebrew.
    So, there is no 666,
    only Six Hundred Sixty-Six.

    Honestly,
    religious or not people,
this is some interesting stuff to look into.

Very interesting and informative, I didn't know any of that, and 666 is something thats always interested me for no other reason than it's so mysterious :P thanks for clearing up some of the mystery.

My teacher told me about this, it's really interesting how it's evolved over the years.

This is why people shouldn't take everything literally. People often look to the bible as a book of prophecy when it isn't. I already knew about the 666 myth. The Mayan calender also doesn't end in 2012. It continues to the next cycle which is 14.

Other than that small factual error, good article.

Actually the "code" of letters equaling numbers wasn't created in response to persecution. All of the Hebrew alphabet has always been encoded in numbers. Each letter of Hebrew script has what is called a "gematriya" value. There are actually some really cool things you can do with them to prove meaningless coincidences.

Very good article. I never knew that about Nero or Hitler. I always thought the bullshit behind 666 was something different.

    Thank-You!
