    That is so sad but I can guess why he died. The life of most animals consists of mating and producing offspring, but George was alone and that purpose of his life was never fulfilled. :( Well that's what I think. Poor tortoise.

    This makes me very sad. Galapagos turtles are my favourite kind of animal, and that fact that Lonesome George was so closely related, it breaks my heart. *hugs stuffed galapagos turtle*

    I heard about this earlier this morning. It really saddened me to hear Lonesome George had passed away, it's a really tragic thing that he's gone. Hopefully we can find a species that shares the Pinta Island Turtles genes, that'd be an incredible thing if they can really find that.

    I can't believe it. We had heard about this amazing tortoise in our Ecology class, its sad that the last ever of these beauiful creatures passed :(
