Sarah Palin can't even control her own daughter. What makes you think she could run a country when (yes WHEN) McCain dies. We know he won't make it to the end of term. Then PALIN controls the country. And by "Palin", I mean the same people pulling the strings of the Bush regime. Third term, people. Third terrm.

evilbunny3xxx, it's population control, which has been going on even before Palin was governor.

I think some people are taking it as me saying political parties are wrong.

I'm not saying that at all, if you're a republican or democrat, cool. My point is that you shouldn't vote on any issue or in any election based on your party. Vote because you agree with what the person stands for, not just because you share a political party. That's how we end up in half the messes we are in.

I'm a proud democrat. I'll argue about it for hours, and have before. Maybe Bush has labeled all republicans as a bad thing, but for the time being, we need a democrat. Someone who won't start wars based on lies and religon, or won't refuse to shake their oppents hand.

BTW, Palin has wiped out the wolfs in Alaska. Has anyone read the story on how a program she runs killed 14 baby wolfs, clearly against the law? Do we really want a VP that not only breaks their own laws, but kills innocent puppies?

I'm clearly not old enough to vote. However, I'm probably the only eighth grader at my school that keeps up with politics, simply because they interest me, and I can defend myself when people tell me I only support Obama because my parents do.

I like Obama's ideas. I like his plans, and I think he'd do a much better job than McCain. Also, Sarah Palin just scares me. However, I formed my opinion by watching and listening to both candidates. If McCain was saying the stuff Obama is, I would vote for him(if I could vote).

I think you're absolutely right, people don't listen to the ideas anymore. It's simply what party you are. My parents are a perfect example. Their voting for Obama because they're registered democrats. They didn't watch the VP debate. They haven't watched any of the Presidential debates. They don't care. Their democrats, therefor they're voting for Obama. It honestly makes me mad.

    STEWART/COLBERT 08!

    :D

Just thought I should add that since someone mentioned it.

Also, we should elect Bob as ruler of the world. He'd run things perfectly.

I'm not old enought to vote but if I were I'd probably be independant. The parties are just stupid and are dividing our country politically.

If I could, I would vote for Nick 13 ... or Stephen Colbert, but he only runs in S. Carolina.

I'm not old enough to vote, but when I am I'm almost positive I'll be Independent.
I full agree with this article...even if political parties could be CIVIL that'd be fine...but it seems like they all spend more time find things wrong with the opposite party than trying to actually do something about what they want. Political parties, in my eye, have not done much more than cause hate for one another.

More of the country is becoming Independent because people are sort of realizing neither candidate is that great.

Good article. I loved how you cited Washington's speech. If he saw our country the way it was today, he'd be rolling in his grave.
