I just can't comprehend how you could compare faith to a cell phone. That distracted me from the whole argument.

    One thing:

I think faith is a little bit stronger than the anticipation of getting a new cell phone. I think that was kind of a materialistic example, which is the opposite of faith. Faith goes way deeper than that.

    Otherwise good article :]

Faith: the delusional belief that what you hope is going to happen will happen

Hope is all well and good, but when you trick yourself into believing that it's going to happen you deny reality. And that's as bad as becoming despondent

    Oh my lord....

Look, faith is what people lieing to themselves call the lies they tell themselves.
Its just like those soldiers in vietnam who clased their eyes in the middle of a massive battle and pretended they were at home, in front of the fire eating granma's apple pie, and we all know what happened to them...

    KABANG!

    A writer of truth indeed.
    Thank you.
    For defining faith, not religion.
So often now people are defining relgion for us all, telling us we need relgion in our lives. You simply said we needed faith. And as you pointed out, faith can be in anything; rather it's faith in a God or faith that your next day will be better than your last. I for one appreciate your take on the whole topic and congratulate you for writing a low-offense article.

    Good job (:

"The true definition of faith is... confidence or trust in a person or thing based on a belief that is not necessarily true or prooven."

    Prooven?

Faith does play an important role in life.
I can say I don't have faith in 'God' or any other deity for that matter but I do have faith in other things.
Faith plays important roles in your life for many different things.

Good article, WoT. You really got the message across,
and it's a lot better than the one I just wrote.
Congratulations, and keep up the good articles.
Dookie clearly doesn't have a life, so his opinion
shouldn't matter all that much anyway. =]

Omg; well done! took the words out of my mouth.
I don't really believe in God strongly or go to church but i do have faith. Imagine if your relative was in hospital and had 50% chance of living. I would pray to God that they will be ok. That faith would help me so much. It's better that they cannot prove God is real as it will drive some people mad. The faith makes me feel that theres someone listening and theres a chance. If there wasn't any faith, I would believe there was no chance at all.
    Good article.
