This is really cool :) I live in San Francisco and I remember that in elementary we went on a field trip there, and me and my friends were alone walking around, and with the audio tour. It was hella creepy, and we sometimes got the sensation someone was following us and these random times where it would get really cold then suddenly it went back to normal...
I'd love to do the night tour sometime, I love visiting places that are supposedly haunted at night :)

Thank you for commenting on my article, you guys. I really want to visit Alcatraz as well and I do live pretty close to San Francisco. Hopefully I'll be able to go there someday and prove these fables right. Of course, until then, they're just myths.

Ghost are something to fear, though, and I have felt the presence of one before. Don't use a owegi board. I used one and I tried to tell my friend over the computer that there was a ghost following me, but I felt all the hair on my neck stand up and it felt like a cold hand was touching my neck. It was creepy!

Really interesting. I was hoping for a small paragraph on the American Indian Movement taking control of Alcatraz in 1969, with several deaths in that event, including Oakes daughter.
But this has really motivated me to go and visit.

I went there a few times since we live close to San Fransisco and one time we took a night tour and I got to go into one of the cells and the door slamed shut with me inside, I was totally creeped out. No one in my group ever confessed to have done it.

I heard screaming in one of the solitary confinement cells and felt something pulling my hair. I really do believe it's haunted and I've believed in ghosts ever since :)

I never been but I've heard so many horror stories about this that I don't want to lol. Funny enough I did see that episode nice article a topic that I don't often see good for you for thinking outside the box

I went there when I was eight I heard screaming in the morning.
It is scary and I have been living in the bay for all my life.
I do believe it is haunted that placed made me believe in ghost ever since.
