Rowing Becoming Popular Among Teens - Comments

  • oh i just love your article! im on a public school crew team in Connecticut and i love this sport so much.
our crew team is very unappreciated so this article brightened my day so much. and its true the family aspect of crew is the best. i grew up watching my brother row and i was so jealous of how close he was to his team so i waited all through middle school for high school just so i could row.
along with rowing i also do ballet which is just as physically and mentally demanding as rowing, which no one believes but it is. my daily schedule was crew 2:30-5 then straight to dance 5:30-8:15 or 5:30- 7. by the end of the season i had bursitis in both knees, bad shin splints in my right leg, a sports hernia, painfully tight tissues in my ankles, joint pain in my back, whiplash, and a crazy painful tight left hip. but it is all worth it for that first place spot and a family!

  • i row :)
i've been rowing for almost two years and i am absolutely in love with this sport! i love every moment of it (including the god awful erg workouts). i can no longer imagine my future without rowing! it's like a cult. once you're in, there's no turning back!

  • When I read the title, I thought it was 'Rowling'. I thought this article would be about Harry Potter... Sad face

  • I have four friends who row, one of them female. It's common where I live because we're a coastal/dockyard town. It's certainly an interesting sport and we often watch my friends race. Mind you, I don't think I'd ever be able to cope with the training!

  • Very interesting article! I've never heard much about rowing, especially among teens, so it's cool to learn a little more about it! It's a shame it's so expensive, though. That would've been a cool, fun sport for more schools... :(

  • If this was facebook, I'd like that post. Haha.
I wrote it because I knew how close my team is, and how underrated we are in the world of sports.

  • Crew! Yes!
I'm part of the team at my school and it's amazing. The girls in my boat and our cox have really become part of my family and we've all worked really hard this season. Tomorrow we're heading to ECC's ranked as second in the state.
    Good article!
