I cried. I danced, I was so happy that he won. And coming from a [mainly] Republican school sucked. Everyone was all 'McCain should've won' and I was just like 'No, Obama won. He needed to win. Now go away and let me be happy'.

There's such a huge weight of expectation on Obama now. Don't get me wrong, I've been rooting for him from the start, but he will make mistakes and people need to realise that. The man can't work miracles.

btw, I heard that Sarah Palin's thinking of running for President in the next election. Probably just a rumour, but I thought i'd mention it anyway.

Im an Australian and i was rooting for Obama the whole time, McCain lost it with that stupid Sarah Palen idiot. (no offence :P)

But i was reading the local rag today and it said some of Obamas Plans
    Reducing interest fees
    better Health Care
Slowly Disintegrating the arm thats in Iraq
BUT What I do not agree with is that he wants to take them from Iraq and put them in bloody Afghanistan!!! To fight the Taliban and Al-Quaeda(mispell?)!!

Now I realize terrorism won't just go away but do you realize the percentage of people living in afghanistan that have nothing to do with these monsters?98% of muslims are just that! They are muslims, they aren't terrorists and I think its unfair for them to be treated as such ,its Horrible. But I cannot believe he announces this now especially after the threats about the Bali Bombers to be executed - Threats to the US embasy and to Assasinate the Indonesian President.

But in Saying this, really theres not much in the way of an alternative.
    *Sigh*

I'm so glad he won. I stayed up to watch the election returns last night, and it just gave me this super giddy feeling, both that he won, and because it was history in the making. I was also really impressed with McCain's speech; it made me respect him =]

While it's not the end of the world, I don't think this is the best thing for our country right now. I think McCain would've been a better short-term choice because he does have more experience. However, if things were more stable, Obama with all his "let's change the whole system" doctrines would've been more at home. He's going to have to be very careful with what decisions he makes, especially because Bush isn't done yet. Two and a half months is plenty of time for him to do something else.

I was with Obama the whole way; from the preliminaries to the end. And even if I miself could not vote I encouraged those around me to vote for him and dicussed why this man should be our next president.
Obama is a man wjo after eight years under Bush can change our country for the better.
No one candidate can please everyone with every desion but, i believe, Obama did. He pursuded me, someone who has never cared for politics or law, to look into this election and to actually send out my feelings for what i believe is the right decision.
As of January 20th when Obama is assigned into office we can and will change for the better. And Obama will lead us to that.

I'm glad he won. He might be just what America needs at this point.
    I was for Obama.

McCain made a strong campaign and he took losing better than most people who have expected him too. I admire McCain for that.

MemoryCard has obviously never taken a high school civics class, or else she would know what Socialism really is and understand why it's not necessarily this bad thing that everyone thinks it is.

I have great faith in Obama, and as for McCain, he really does have class. I think Obama will be a lot like JFK. He will do great things for America.

p.s. the person with the socialist comment below needs to come out and look at the facts. Either that or move up from name calling in the second grade. This is America, people. The greatest country on earth, and we just need to come together and trust whatever leader we have. WE put up with YOUR choice of president for the past 8 years, so YOU can give OUR'S a chance. thanks much. xo

    HALLLLLLELUJAHHHHHH!
I started sobbing when he won... I was so happy. This has opened up so many doors for me, being bi-racial, and that man is such an inspiration.

I did support John McCain, but honestly, I think Obama will do a good job during his term.

I agree with Vincent Price though. vv

Even though I voted for McCain, during Obama's administration I will TRY to keep an open mind.

But I swear...if any of those overzealous fans of his turn on him after his first mistake [and he will make mistakes! People need to realize that]...*shakes head*
