Rape is a disgusting and horrible thing. But with child rape it's a little different- an eight year old girl or boy is not going to care whether or not the rapist gets the death penalty, as long as they never have to be anywhere near them again. Usually it's an adult that ensures the rapist gets what he deserves- the child just never wants to see the sicko's face ever again.

I don't agree with the death penalty either. Rotting in prison is a much worse punishment then getting the easy way out handed to you.

Actually, even if it's a child or an adult, it doesn't matter.
Rape is cruel and you're right it does cause damage to both...
and for that, I think death penalty is what they should get.

If they're crazy enough they might escape from jail and rape

The death penatly is a little much I think just for a rape (even if its a child), I never hear rapist being killed when they rape and adult, just a little sit in the prison, I do not think they should discriminate because of age, so its a little kid, whats the difference? It does emotional damage? does it not do that for an adult also? and most kids do worse to them selves, I think, 30years - 50years is what he should get, because he did not take the girls life away from her (which is why he should not get life in prison) but that's just what I think, and why I do not run the world :P (people hate it when you are fair Lol)

I don't believe in the death penalty either.
Giving someone life in prison is worse than killing them.
Nobosy has the right to take another person's life, no matter how bad that person is. Why would you kill a rapist or even a killer for that matter. Your just as bad as them.
But thats just my opinion.

The justice system was never fair. And I doubt it ever will be. The justic system has so much power they abuse it a lot.

If a child rapist [i]is[/i] killed for their actions, there is no sure proof that they'll be punished in an 'afterlife.' Wouldn't rotting in prison for the rest of your life be enough for you?

I don't agree with the death penalty period. I just don't.
I do, however, think that child rapists should rot away in prison for the rest of their lives. There is no excuse for forcing yourself onto another human being.

In 1998, Patrick Kennedy was condemned of viciously and inhumanly raping his stepdaughter, who was just 8 years old.
Patrick Kennedy's stepdaughter was so badly injured she required urgent surgery.
This is what makes me sick.

I admit in some cases the death penalty is harsh but for this case no.
That man deserves every drop of the lethal drug they give him.

I agree with Eddie Izzard. "The victums life wasn't taken". Wanna bet on that? The victim woul problly rather be dead. True story, a little girl was basiclly little miss popular. Everyone loved her and she had lots of friends. Then she got raped. She was then scared to leave her house. She refused to talk to anyone. She refused to look at anyone in the face. She was always tormented by that day. She ended up killing herself on her birthday a few months later. No, she wasn't overreacting. That is not the story of one little girl. That is the story of thousands. No, I do not think they should get the death penalty, but I do think they should spend their life in jail where they can't hurt anybody anymore. Like Venomous.Vampire said "Killing isn't justice, it's revenge". Justice would be going back in time and erasing it, but that can never happen. I think you should keep them away from people... and monitor them if they get out. But I do not think they should be killed. That is wrong to take a life.

I believe fully in the death penalty, especially when it comes to older men scarring children for the rest of their lives. That is incredibly wrong.

I agree with Venomous.Vampire, its revenge im kind of torn witht he death sentence the bible says eye for an eye but i dont actually believe in the bible ior religon ... i think tht yeah it is just revenge but they do have a poin tht life sentence for rape would maybe cause the victim to keep quiet which would tht no justice is done AT ALL its kinda crmmy... the law suks but wed be screwed without it
