It's a wonder what the US will be like in the next 20-30 years. Government video cameras in our homes maybe? A list of opinions and beliefs that we can or cannot express in public?
I can't believe there are only thirteen comments on this and there are pages of comments on less important, very poorly written articles.
Fuck the government.
This is exactly why I do not trust the government.
Perhaps the idea of the government is to protect and guide us, but the people putting this idea into action,.. I don't trust them. They're going to bring the end of the world.
It just like saying, "We're the government, we can do whatever we want." It's just hidden under the, "We're the government, we're doing what we can to protect you." HAH!
Our founding fathers are turning over in their graves. I wonder if one day we will wake up and realize we are no longer a democracy but a fascist dictatorship. Yet where is the white knight in congress there to protect our rights? Greed and power are the only things that drive our government today. I know if American's still had the spirit of freedom that once in our history consumed us, the government would of never been able to do anything like this. Still we are content to sit and watch our television and go about our lives ignoring the direction our civil system is taking. Such is life.
It sickens me that the government thinks they are 'protecting' us by tapping into our phones, etc. What is said in private is none of their business. Great articel.
What next, are they going to tell us our thoughts can be illegal?
This is why I'm glad I live in the UK.
Brilliant article- informative and really clear. I agree with Matthew Leone, you don't see these kinda articles everyday on here anymore.
Even though I'm not an American, I just wanted to congratulate you on a well written article. They seem to becoming quite hard to find on Mibba and this actually gave me some new information I'd never heard before. Kudos to you.
I don't trust the government in any way. I've met soldiers who have told me about the war in Iraq. I've seen cops arrest my mother for no reason and put her in jail. I've heard enough and seen enough for me to not have any respect towards most of our government.
I don't believe we have "rights" I believe we have privileges. The government has always been able to manipulate it's citizens by fear and rob them of their rights. In 1942 we threw all of our Japanese citizens into camps, because Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. Where were their "rights?"
