Well it's a way for these poor women in India to get a better life. Yes it's dangerous but those dangers are global. In america there is still the issue of pregnancy deaths. It's a sad fact about the world.

If you're willing to help somebody in such a huge way, I say go for it. personally, I don't want children, not my own or somebody else's, but that's a personal decision. I know many people who would gladly help people in a way that impacting.

I think that if I didn't want any more children of my own, I would definately carry another couples baby if I were able to. Nicely written article, but I think you should have included a little bit on how the process works, and if the baby will have the DNA of the actual parents or not. :)

If it's making childless couples happy and paying women good money in places where it is difficult to earn a comfortable living, more power to them.
As long as everyone involved is happy I think it should be legal and fine.

People do that in a America all the time. Often surrogate mothers are paid to have another couples baby. India has just taken the step to make it an actual business. I think that if it's done right, it's a really good idea and could be a good option for people who can't have children.

imagine the strech marks they must have though.....

I think that if people who are willing to be surrogate mothers are there, then what's wrong with that?? The people who are against it have to think what it's like to not be able to have a child.
Of course, if the women were forced into it, it'd be wrong. But they're doing it of their own choice.
    And very well written

If blokes can sell their sperm then women should be able to rent out their wombs

I don't think I could cope with it personally, but I'm not them if they can then they should if they want to

    Ace article btw

I can't have my own children so if it starts coming into the U.S. I'd do it because I would want a child who looks just like me instead of having to adopt a child from a different country.

Very good article. I enjoyed it greatly.

I think people should be able to do what they want. If these women want to act as serrogate mothers because that's a good way to make income, and support their own families, then that's great. They can do whatever they want, and some people have no right to question that. XD

Great article. I really enjoyed it.

That was a very interesting and informative piece, allthough I wish you'd said more about why people don't like it. All in all, it was extremely interesting and I learned some stuff... so obviously, what I'm trying to say is HIGH-FIVE!
