I live in London, and there are loads of cool places to go. Camden is quite fun, if you're into that alternative kind of style. There are quite a few markets, like Borough Market or Covent Garden Market.

The Jubilee gardens and the surrounding area near Waterloo station are quite nice to go for scenic lunch, as it's not too far from the London Eye, and then down the road there's Westminster Bridge which leads over to Big Ben. There's also Tattershall Castle, which isn't a castle but a boat, that has a bar on that serves food. And that's pretty cool.

There's also the Harry Potter studios which is in London, well, technically just outside of London. But it's about a fifteen minute train journey from Euston station and then a bus ride from Watford Junction.

Hyde Park is just at the end of Oxford Street, where all the shops are. And during Christmas they have a lovely market with fair ground rides on. On Sunday's they have a Speakers Corner which is amazing if you're into public debates and listening to some quite mental ideas. The museums are quite fun, too.

I wouldn't live anywhere else. It's busy, it's mental, and it's full of crazy characters, but it's my home and I love it.

I definitely agree with a lot of this list. When I was in London last summer we didn't get to go to Buckingham Palace (but we got to drive past it, that's something, right?) but we did a lot of the other things on this list and they really were awesome.

In addition, for those with extra money, I'd definitely recommend going to see a show / musical or even just taking a wander through the Strand and having a look at all of the theatres because they really are incredible. I don't even like musicals, but you can appreciate how much work goes into them and there's amazing choice for what you can go and see.

I went in February, but they were working on one side and a part of it had been closed off. I think it was the place where you can go down and see the contraption that lifted the bridge.

PS all, inside St Pauls (again I think its been taken down) my uncle did some work, he arranged the fixing of a giant lens to exaggerate the décor (stairs and roof) some truly wonderful work done there. (I'm bias but meh.)

Oh and I agree with the comments below:
The British museum is amazing, it's not about Britain, but worldwide artefacts. It's worth to go purely for the Ancient Egyptian exhibit. The Natural History museum is also an amazing place to visit... I mean come on... DINOSAURS!

Piccadilly is my favourite place to go. Chinatown and the area around it is quite simply amazing. I went to the London Dungeons when I was in year 7, so about 12. Seriously. The most horrifying thing when you're a kid.

We're going to London again in October and we were looking for new things to do. This has been really helpful! Also, The Albert Memorial is absolutely stunning and Tower Bridge is great to see the sights of London :)

Damn your comments hard to read o.O writing that small, my zoom text was up to 3.5 just to read it LOL

So yes, youre right, as I've said to 'LittleDeath' my visits to London are routine. I love London (Despite my works which would suggest quite the contrary of that opinion.) and there are so many places to go. I suppose for some (most) of those suggestions I'm going with 'I'd like to...' as opposed to 'I loved it.'

Many of them I did love:
    - Buckingham Palace
    - Houses of Parliament
    - Nottinghill
    - Covent Garden
    - St Paul's
    - Regent Street (and of course, Hamleys)

Many I didn't enjoy but had some beautiful areas:
    - Harrods (I loved the food court, with that exception I hated Harrods)

Many I havent been to but want to:
    - The Tower of London
    - The Globe

Also many other places I've been in London

    - The Science Museum
    - The British Museum
    - The London Eye
    - London Bridge
    - Tower Bridge
    - Millenium Bridge
    - Madam Teusaudes (cant spell...)
    - The millenium dome (back in the day yano.... wish it was still there.)

    I'd want to go also
    - Hampton Court (just outside of London)
    - Westminster Abbey
    - Selfridges

I could go into recommended hotels, but I favour The Park Lane, so really that would be pointless.... So yano, I shan't recommend such

This list was just the tip of the ice burg. I've been to Globe Theatre, it was A-MAZING it looks beautiful outside but wait until you're inside! Covent Gardens was amazing too, I have to recommend a cupcake shop (it sells PEANUT BUTTER CUPCAKES!) and I think it's round the corner to the David and Golliath shop. We only drove past Buckingham Palace and even that was an amazing experience. We walked past (and drove) Parliament and therefore Big Ben (stand right next to it and look up - it's fucking scary cause it looks like it's about topple onto you) and that was just mindblowing too.

Somethings that aren't on this list is the London Eye and, if you can, go on it too. It took about half and hour and you get shit scared at certain points but it's amazing. Also the Sherlock Holmes Museum (that is actually on Baker Street and next door to a Beatles Shop and over the road to a Rock and Roll shop, both are worth visiting to get the British vibe) is good place to visit as well. I completely agree Little Death about the British Museum as well, I did the free one and loved it...maybe because I love Ancient Egypt and that was featured there...I kind of feel obligated to recommend the Tate Modern Museum, but the only thing in there I like was the huge ramp they had...it was fun running up and down it, but if you're into art or laughing at people trying to find the meaning behind UNFINISHED work then go ahead go there, it's free to get in.

I think you should also WALK! across a few of the bridges: the Millennium Bridge for one, if you're going to Tate Modern you might as well, plus when you go back home you can tell everyone you've been on the bridge that was in Harry Potter. If you're British and get excited over the little things (like me) then you should either drive past of go visit BT Tower, every time me and my friends saw it we became overwhelmed and excited for some reason. I also suggest going to the tallest building in the UK: The Shard, I don't know if you can go in it anymore, you might be able to I'm not very up-to-date with these things.

Good article, the places you put down are great ones to visit:) The British Museum is also an amazing place to visit, and its free unless you want to pay a little more for the special exhibitions which are mostly totally worth it. They have some incredible items in the museum, with items from eras that were really the start of civilized human society.

Nearby there's a huge Forbidden Planet shop which is perfect for nerds. When I visited I spent about two hours in there and spent up most of my money. It's two stories of everything you could ever need in the nerd world, video games, comics, figurines, cards games, graphic novels, video games, and merchandise from almost every tv show, book, film or game which has established even the smallest cult following. Since its Doctor Who's 50th anniversary they have really upped the amount of stuff there. It's pretty awesome:)

Your article was great as it was to the point but still contained some detail you might need. Maybe you could have improved it by adding links to websites where you could book or find out more information about the places? But apart from that it was a good article and I could have used it when I went to London a few months back :P
