I really totally agree on the out of handness the place had gotten. I have two stories involving bands but in one they're just subordinate. I really try to keep myself original. So if you wanted you could see that. But I don't really know any other websites besides this one. Tell me when you find a good place that isn't polluted with (here's where I shudder visibly) the Jonas Brothers.

I think fictionpress.com has a lot of good stuff. The site' setup is pretty simple and seriously lacking all the bells and whistles, but the writing is good.

    Just google it, I guess.

I know there was a site I used to be an Admin on called The Poet's Sanctuary, and it was a forum where you could post poetry, and they also offered a section where you could post stories, and they didn't allow fan fiction at all.

If you join them don't bother mentioning you heard it from me...I'm probably long forgotten, lol.

Writing.com was a pretty good site, but it confuzzled me slightly.

You could probably just try googling creative writing sites that allow only original ideas.

Um i've written a few original stories in fact one of mine 'Heartless' i'm actually quite proud of. But I get what you mean fanfiction and repeats have taken over here... a lot.
    Theres:

Fanfiction.com which has both fan fiction and original
if you like Harry Potter theres: harrypotterfanfiction.com
    theres fanfiction.net
    fictionpress.com
    writing.com
plus like a billion more just google ficiton writing sites. Hope I helped,

I actually do agree with you. I've been looking for other places to share my geniousity (sarkasm, kay?:). There is this Norwegian writing-community, that only has original stories, but they're so strict. Like, if there's ONE grammar-error, they'll yell at you. And they won't comment you unless you're somewhat of a genius.
Tell me if you ever find someplace else:D
