v You know how this generation is somewhat about mainstream and trends?
Yeah, Twilight is a good young adult readers, to most it's amazing. To some, the most annoying thing ever. I'm neutral in both sides as I realized Twilight's flaws and... etcetc.

It's a cliche, modern day vampire love story and it's so simple that Stephenie Meyer can still lure and attract young adults to read it and to love it.

It'd be a good book, if the fandom wasn't mostly dominated by overly obsessive -twitch fangirls. I, honestly was addicted to this book, but I wasn't overly obsessive about it. But now... I hate/like it.

    And 'sides. It's mainstream xD
Most of the time mainstream is fun (:
The trend will die out soon.

    Hey I couldn't agree more.
It's really depressing how something so badly written can be so succesful...
I mean this book is absoloutlely nothing special, all it does is stick to stereotypical social norms and water down the most mild "adult situations" .

What malkes it so special? Will somebody please explain? And yes, I have read Twilight & New Moon. Unfortunately.

i started to read twilight cause i wanted to start reading again, and everyone was making a big deal about it. i was good and everything but i don't think i was obsessed with it when i started/finished the books. but yeah it is annoying heraring about it all the time now, like i can be walking down the street and things will remind me of twilight and stuff but// and the movie i really think is going to be stupid and ruin the book.......... uhh okay right now i really am seeming like i am obbsessed but i totally agree with you period.

and the whole you stopping reading the book cause it seemed like a fad, i get you. i hate when you get into something and then everyone gets into it. it just isn't fun to do/read/or wear anymore// it sucks ass

Twilight gets annoying fast. It was decent a couple of years ago. But now it has a movie deal so it explodes again.... Kind of like Harry Potter (I'm not comparing the two literary, just on how popular they are). It would go quiet for a while, but once something new came up (either a movie or a book) it would explode again and was all you'd see.

But it's still an abomination and needs to die quickly. People obsess over it too much. Like my friend. She went to Forks, Washington when she had a choice to go pretty ANYWHERE in the continental US. And she choose some tiny ass little speck of a town because there was a FICTIONAL book that had the town in it. But then people act like Meyer is the only vampire author and especially the only one worth anything.

And Twilight just sucks. In a literary sense, it's one of the worst books imaginable. It's the sort of story you'd find on some writing site by a thirteen year old with no previous writing experience. That naivety happens to us all when we first start out, but does it have to be published and turned into a world wide obsession?! The only thing that really pisses me off is that people LOVE this book and think it's actually the best book ever.

And now I'm going to shut up... I have a tendency to rant when it comes to this book. So I'll just go away now.... Sorry for the rant. <.<

Twilight is an insult to literature and should be burned along with Paris Hilton.

I haven't read twilight. I'm not really into reading books unless they're biographies about musicians or bands...

I remember reading Eclipse, simply because A) It was a decent size, and B) I kept hearing how "amazing" the Twilight series was.
So, the obvious conclusion as to why everyone in the world is in love with Twilight is subliminal messaging. It's everywhere. "Why don't some people like it then?" Because their minds are somehow immune to subliminal messages. [That's my theory and I stick by it]

Well, it was annoying at first and I liked it when I read it.

The way I figure is that it's better that tons of people are getting hyped up about reading a book and not hyped up about shooting heroin or joining a gang or getting into unhappy and not-so-nice habits.

It is scary. It's been out for a while, but suddenly everyone's like, "OMG, THIS IS TOTALLY THE BEST VAMPIRE BOOK EVER. WAIT, NO, IT'S THE ONLY VAMPIRE BOOK EVER. NO OTHER VAMPIRE BOOKS ARE EVEN WORTH THINKING ABOUT."
or, at least, that's what the people I know are doing.
