It'll go away when the trend dies, just like every other one.
I'm with Dancing Caveman on this; people do need to work on their characters, in that sense.
And, they're considered 'emo' because they are emo; they fit the description perfectly. That simple.

I agree with the whole "show, don't tell."
However, labels are just a part of life and people aren't going to stop using labels no matter what.
MCR is dragged into it because they're an emo band.

The whole
emo
thing is something you need to learn to ignore. I'm sure everyone has been called something in their life time.
Someone calling you emo, is just has bad as you calling that person a prep.
It's life.

it'll take just as long as it did for the prep to die out
and guess what? it hasn't yet.
it's just something you have to deal with
and if you don't like labels, don't use them or listen to them
it's that easy
