"I agree, though, that for the most part, people don't understand the beauty of poetry. I don't get the Full House reference, but you brought up a good point. This could make for a nice article."

There was an episode of Full House where Jesse goes back to high school and reads a poem by Walt Whitman, "O Captain, My Captain", and basically, if it wasn't for that episode, most people wouldn't know Walt Whitman at all.

I just got a huge collection of Edgar Allen Poe's work, and I got really excited about it. My friends called me weird.

I've found a few people in my school who still appreciate fine poetry. I know a good amount of people who read classic literature for fun. Poetry is less commonly read for fun, but I think it's because the focus in English classes at my school revolves around analyzing novels rather than poems. I'd love to have a unit of poetry where we got to analyze realy poems for more than a week.

Dead Poet's Society is one of my favorite movies.

I agree, though, that for the most part, people don't understand the beauty of poetry. I don't get the Full House reference, but you brought up a good point. This could make for a nice article.

    I love free verse tbh.

It's hard to take poetry seriously because it's slow, it doesn't tell a big enough or deep enough story. Or that's what happened in my English class.
