That song in particular helped me deal with some of the hardest moments in my life, including Hurricane Katrina.
also try John Lennon, his solo work is very uplifting. You don't want to listen to songs about death when you're trying to feel better so that's why I'd avoid MCR actually...pick something that makes you feel empowered and doesn't talk about death and despair. Something about being a better person or making the world a better place.
