God loves us all (?) - Comments

  • Whoa...3 years old post here. Anyways, yeah I don't agree with your teacher. I do believe in God, but he is one of love and my idea of him is quite different that the idea measured in the bible....actually my religion itself is quite odd. Anyways, I love your question. Religion can be hypocritical, but I love gays/bisexuals/she-males (sorry don't know the politically correct term for that one)....i love all of it you know? Why is a person's love life anyone else's business anyways? People can worry about some stupid stuff sometimes -_-
I mean if your homophobic, that's your perrogative, but why waste your time hating people...live your life people! (Not accusing anyone of being homophobic...just was pointing that out randomly)
Okay I'll shut up now. Good question though.

  • Before the bible, homosexuality was completely accepted and sometimes gays were kind of looked up to. But all of a sudden, this book is written and it says that everything everyone believed is wrong. I don't get it. I think its misinterpreted or something. I don't know, I'm not religious or anything.

  • I think what christians take from the bible that seems to put down homosexuality isn't about homosexuality at all... it's about lustful sex....

Men back then... did it with other men out of pleasure... it wasn't consentual at all- so they weren't really gay- but people took it the wrong way and bam: people think homosexuality is wrong.

But, sadly, i don't thing the bible is talking about homosexuality at all... read the story Jonathan and David and see if God really hates gay men and relationships

  • ummm.... I think the reasoning is God gives you the love, it's up to you to use it in a right way?.... lol!! a right way to love... would that make a wrong way?

  • my beliefs on God are basically that homosexuality is fine. It's love and there's a whole poem about how God is love so homosexuality is fine. I'm a catholic but my beliefs don't really conform to the catholic views. Plus i'm bisexual.

  • It's hard to explain, and I'm kind of discombobulated right now, but God IS love, and Homophobia IS gay. That pretty much says it all. xD

  • My mom explains it as the fact that God didn't create us to be homosexual/ bisexual. I'm a Christian, but I don't believe in discrimination agianst homosexuality. In fact, a few of my Christian friends are bi. One of them's even gay, so...

  • I don't believe homosexuality is wrong. If 2 men or 2 women love each other, and if there is a God, then surely he made them that way on purpose? From my memories of Sunday school, God has a plan for everyone.

  • Religion is strange...natural things are forbbiden and ...gahh, it's complicated...i don't even get it.
Maybe God gives us love and these are not wrong things, but humanity is stupid and scared and sees them like this. I don't know
