my story that im writing is an original. and the story i will be posting soon is acctually a true story. i agree with you, some fan-fiction can be good but it is taking up a lot of the originality space

i like some fan fiction, and Druscilla is very right. the pen controls the writer. so let your pen write, and find out what happens.

I agree with you completely... personally I hate fan fics... I mean don't get me wrong some of the writers are amazing! I just hate that sort of thing... I don't really know why lol. Anyway, it depends on what kind of Original fic you're looking for but I have a lot of those in the making... and I am trying to co write one fan fic just to see what the whole big deal is out there... I hope you find what you're looking for in a story though... Good luck!

It just... is. I'll read (and probably write) anything just that it depends on my fandom/my fancy and if it's actually any good. I'm subscribed to about five OFs.

There's some fanfics I like and there's some original fics that I like after finding them. It depends on how well-written they are for me. Like Audrey T. mentioned you have to look for them.

I get what you mean. I read fan-fiction here, but sometimes I want to read a good original fic. There's some good original fiction here, though. You've just got to look for it. But like you said, the site does have much more fan-fiction than originals.

Right now, most of my stories are original, so you can definitely check them out if you've got the time.

I'm not a fan of original fiction.
I much prefer fan fiction.
Original fiction is filling up our libraries and bookstores.
The internet is really the only place we have for fan fiction.

As for the "applying of skills" to original fiction.
A true writer does not control what they write; the pen controls them.
I have no more of a choice to write fan fiction that you do to sprout wings and fly to the moon.
I cannot write original fiction.
I can write fan fiction.
