I HATE The Monkey's Paw.
It's boring. And not at all scary.

oh god, we spent two terms working on 'of mice and men' at my school, and now we're doing 'frankenstein' for gothic horror/gothic lit.

it's slowly killing me, so i definitely sympathise :]

Ah, I'm doing/done all of those things at school XD.
Gothic Horror's awesome, especially 'The Monkey's Paw'.
The poetry's a bit boring, I seem to remember.
Romeo and Juliet and Of Mice and Men suck, imo x].
Creative writing's fun though :).
