i disagree to a certain extent, you can judge someone on their apparency. this is a very crude example "if your wear a metalica T-shirt and if then some says your like metal music, and then you go ballistic for them judging you". do you want to hang around people you hate, no, thats why people ostracize others into stereotypes, so they don't have to deal with them. you can't be accepting of all people, i mean this article could be offensive to those who embrace stereotypes.

People judge because with each new generation television and technology and stuff like that has put an idea in peoples head that to be 'normal' that you have to be a certain thing, that you have to bann certain people from your life. And then when someone who has the guts to go against what they think they blow up and get b*tchy and then thus where stereotypes enter. The world is just full of stupid people if you're happy with who you are that's all that matters.

People are judgemental? I don't think everyone who laughs at those things really believe they're that bad.
Besides, there are stereotypes, and those just make it easier. Laugh at yourself.

Besides; if you really enjoy it, just go on doing it.

    Agreed.

Although...at my school band isn't considered all that dorky. In fact, my school, in fall semester at least, breaks down into four parts: the football team, the cheerleaders, the band, and the supporters of those people. You should see the turnout at our football games. It's really itimidating to the opposition.
