yes society is definitely an interesting thing. The popularity thing has always been so bogus to me. It's not like I will see those kids at my school again after high school.. or very few anyway. Seriously, those people who just push others around need to grow up.

I agree with social acceptance being better as far as racism and prejudice, but racism is at its worst at some places (especially with our generation because of the vulgar language that is accepted in our society), but also, teens/kids are so concerned about where they stand in society with looks and what all of the "popular" people are doing (who are only popular because people are afraid of them or because they have a "hot" body or something) that they're losing themselves in what they think they want to be.
    Oh, society. :3

I agree with what you have mentioned and it is true. I'm pretty annoyed by some of the celebs out their in the media today.

I'm glad when I do find something that I truly cherish.

Sometimes it bothers me that actors or movie producers are held in higher regard than police officers, teachers, or architects/contractors. Sure, glitz and glamour and fun is very nice, but they're not necessary for life.

On the other hand, I like that our society is thriving enough to allow us to be able to focus on the fun stuff and less on the drudgery of life sometimes. And how a lot of people pour themselves into helping others, being doctors, etc...

Teenagers will be teenagers, no matter what time period they live in *sigh*...
People will still be irrational and annoying -- not that we shouldn't be happy for our society!!

It's not like our society is anything new and original. Crappy celebrities will always be slavishly admired. It's unfortunate, but at least now when we find something truly good (like a movie or song), it's like you're dancing around a small, celebratory household bonfire, right? :)
