that characters thing doesn't really work yet, as far as I remember... people who have pictures of characters in their stories actually put them in with BBCode, like any text modification, with [img]url of the image[/img].
But, honestly, don't post pics of the characters in your story. It's in bad taste. Give a full description if you feel it's necessary, but don't go looking for pictures of what your character looks like in your head. Have you ever read a book where there were pictures and details like exact height or weight of the characters in the introduction?
I usually just link it.
And yeah, it might be in bad taste or whatever, but I still like doing it. I write for fun...not to get published or anything so, it really doesn't matter to me.
That's just my opinion though.
