I hate people like that. It's like. 'You don't do this or this so you must be going to hell.'
'Uhh, no, I just don't live life by any book. Now, if I was a murderer, I'd probably agree with you.'

I used to be Roman Catholic, I'm Agnostic but I'm now leaning towards Atheism.

When I went to Sunday school, the teacher called Bible-thumpers pest. Also when my cousin came to visit and she saw the pictures of Jesus, the Virgin Mary and the other saints, she said that we had to take them down or else we'll go to hell. And she's only 6 years old D:

imsofreakincool, so you're saying evil people who believe in Jesus will go to Heaven? People who have killed, say, thousands of innocent people and don't feel sorry about i, commit adultery repetitively, hurt themselves (which is the same as thou shall not kill) and never help anyone go to Heaven?

You're taking those verses out of context. According to the Bible, yes you gotta believe in Jesus to go to Heaven, but not solely that. You have to be a good person. Go to church and listen to the service. I'm sure Christian churches preach goodness. It can't just be the Catholics. Jesus is an example of goodness, and by doing as he does he is the way.

Do you know what 'grace' means? The exercise of love, kindness, mercy, favor; disposition to benefit or serve another; favor bestowed or privilege conferred. Doesn't that mean 'good'?
    So by goodness you're saved.

    John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

    and

    Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

imsofreakincool, prove it. Give me where it says it in the book and I'll look it up. If I'm wrong, maybe this is the wrong religion for me. I've gone to Sunday school - though Catholics call it CCD and it's not on Sunday all the time - all my life, too. I graduated two years ago. I think I know what I'm talking about considering the church preaches be a good person, help others, and don't indulge on the Seven Deadly sins and you're on a good path.

I'm absolutely aware of that. I was just pointing something out. I know that to lead someone to Christ you must tell them how much Jesus loves them and wants the best for them. Hell is definitely not the best :)

listen, I'm not trying to sound like a know-it-all but the Bible clearly says that you do not get into heaven for being a good person. I've been going to a Christian school my whole life and this is what they tought me as well

imsofreakincool: Telling people they're going to Hell isn't how you get people to see the light in Christianity. Jesus didn't go up to people screaming that they're gonna go to Hell if they didn't change their ways, that's fear, not faith.

Damn, if I'm going to Hell for being a good person, what's the point in being good in the first place?

you're 100% correct. That's not what Christianity is about, but at the same time you can't just act like everything is perfectly fine when you know someone is on the path to hell... I mean, I'm really sorry. I know I'm coming off harsh :(

imsofreakincool, uhm, yes you do get into Heaven for being a good person. You sure don't go to Hell. You don't seem to know your teachings. Have you been to Sunday School or go to church? Maybe it's the "Catholic Heaven" where you get into for being a good person. That's what I was taught. Lead a good life and don't indulge on the Seven Deadly Sins, indulge on the Virtues. Most people follow those - even those who aren't Christian.

I believe if you lead a good life and don't do evils purposely, you got a really good chance of going to Heaven. No matter your religion.

Wasn't Jesus the guy who went out and helped the people who society thought least deserved it? If I'm correct he was the guy helping prostitutes and criminals. I don't think Christianity is about people telling others they're going to hell.

God does love all people, very much, but you don't get into heaven for being a good person. Don't ask me why cause I don't make the rules. That's just how God wanted it to be, and I'm not trying to bash other people's beliefs

imsofreakincool, that's not a very Christian thing to say. God loves all people right? You can't say a Buddhist monk who has done good all his life is going to hell.

sorry, wasn't aware I was judging. I was just making a statement, and it was in no way personal. And you're right---I dont know where people are going. I can't predict the future. But if you die an you aren't a Christian, then you ARE in fact going to hell

I don't like Bible-thumpers. They give Christians a bad name. We're not all like that =/

true? Doesn't mean that you have the right to tell people where theyre going. Besides, they could change later on.

imsofreakincool; i saw you wrote you don't judge people on your page. well it sounds like you're judging england's dreaming.
