My mom had cancer, and if your friend is anything like her, they don't want pity or to be asked if they're okay - but that's just my mom. Just bring up memories, easy peasy and ask what's she's been up to :)

I haven't talked to my friend in a long time and now I'm thinking of... facebook-ing her or something :P

On the Vampire Diaries topic - liked the books better. Hated Twilight all together :D VD pwns. :D

Hmm... talking to her would be a little hard. Maybe call her up and maybe makes plans to spend a day together. Like, go to the park, or bowling or skating or something. Talk about old times, what you two have been up to since you've last seen each other, stuff like that.

I wouldn't say anything about the cancer, unless she says something first to you. If you don't feel comfortable talking about it if she brings it up, say you're not trying to hurt her feelings, but you don't feel comfortable talking about.
