Very few people, theater or not, would say that Handley isn't a nice guy... although I agree that the "uniform" idea is weird. I'd make it an option, even extra credit, but not a requirement. That's dumb.

One thing - did they ACTUALLY tell you that you weren't a good enough singer? I mean, you put it in quotes, so my first reaction would be to assume that those were the exact words.

All the people at my school who are in the drama sort of field are required to wear totally black. Black tights, black t-shirts etc.

I guess I can see where you're coming from though.

    Oh my. Lol.
Yeah, I've noticed that black seems to be the color for a lot of actors. I guess it's the dramatic color.
But the fact that they have to wear black or fail is pretty wierd.

I go to a magnet school too! (Just not an arts one...)

I really enjoy going mostly because it does let people come together to explore what they love. The students should not have to wear a specific uniform, nor should they separate based on "talent." If you go there, it is to learn. I hope you enjoy going for other reasons.

I love the Lord of the Flies reference. It is very creepy if you think of it that way.

Never be afraid to express yourself.

    Have a spiffy day, Katherine
