hmm? 2012..... a truly scary thought...... but i truely think that most humans are so self centered that they would spend their chance to save themselfs who have lived a full life, rather then save the young who still have lifes ahead of them

My brother has been fascinated with the Mayans for the past 7 years, before all the 2012 hoopla. They ended the calender there because it was supposed to be the end of an era and then a new one would start. The world isn't going to suddenly blow up or anything.

at that point the calender just ENDS. the end. end of story. NO EXPLAINATION. maybe its the end of the myans. the day that the last direct myan decendant dies. or the day that thier most important relic is destroyed. it does not have to be the last day of the human race, maybe just something of the myan race.

That movie was a load of bullshit.

After seeing 4383929204958484838. People survive the 'end of the world' the movie was supposed to be portraying, I lost touch with the slightest hope that it might actually happen.

    and then again in 2006?

I actually didn't like 2012. I thought it was pretty lame.

As far as the apocalypse goes, I just think it's when the calendar stops not a prediction as to when the world will end. My current calendar stops at December 31st, 2009, but I'm not expecting the world to end.

I'm graduating that year. I don't wanna think about dying, after only being 18 a few short months...So, thus I refuse to see the movie. Lol

You might want to watch your chatspeak in the comments.

I don't believe in 2012. It just seems ridiculous. Though a zombie apocalypse is possible.

I don't believe in it. The Mayans believed everything was cyclical, so the end of the calendar could very well just be the end of that cycle. And besides, do we sacrifice our people to various Gods and do other things that The Mayans did? No, so why would we start believing them now?

    I'm kind of torn.
Honestly, I think that the Myans went lazy and just quit.
It just ends. It doesn't say anything about the end of the world or anything. >_>

I believe in 2012 - if it had just been the Myans I wouldn't but it was Hindus and I forget but a couple other cultures...they actually had the date pinpointed...It's December 21.
