I understand what you're going through and it's okay to cry. Reading your post made me cry because I too had to put my cat Smokey to sleep on January 12th. I was lucky enough to spend 14 years with her. The last couple of weeks have been difficult, but I find looking at old pictures and remember the good times has helped. Hopefully your writing helps you.

This journal almost made me cry. Seriously. That's tragic and I'm sorry. I couldn't imagine going through that with my cat. And I think it's perfectly acceptable to cry at the loss of a pet. I thought I lost my cat a few years ago (we were moving and left her in the old house while we set up the furniture and kept moving things in and out) and I cried like crazy thinking I lost her. So really, I'm sorry for your loss. It must be crazy hard.
