V I think that's also the case here. Only in Australia, now like 1 in 3 teenagers seems to have braces, when in my day it was like 1 in 10. They can't all need them, poor kids. I'm so glad my parents didn't make me endure that.

v it was more so an Asian fade, but because my school has a high population of international students from Asia, I have been introduced to the wonderful concept of fake braces and have had to explain more than once that in America and England we dread having to have real braces. We would never want to have fake ones.

V Fake braces? Wow. Australia really is behind on fads, and this time, I'm thankful.

Anonymiss: I have those myspace trend girls in some of my classes. No matter what anyone says, it IS trashy to take your extensions out in the middle of class while you're talking to someone.

Aelf: People have fake braces, why not fake freckles? Hey, I'm a naturally pale skinned, green eyed, dark haired girl. Seriously.

Stella Astaire: Haha, fake freckles! I get asked about my eyes, too. Also, I used to dye my hair and people assumed that I was naturally a pale-skinned, blue-eyed, black-haired person.

Anonymiss: I see 'so fake they're beginning to look like something a myspace trendseeker' people in the street.

v But there's a limit between "so fake nobody can tell the difference" or "so fake, you're beginning to look like something a myspace trendseeker came up with."

Anonymiss: I get asked all the time if I wear coloured contacts or dye my hair or both because I have light green eyes naturally and dark hair. Apparently this is an unnatural combination and therefore I must be doing something. I guess I draw my freckles on with eyeliner as well.

I think it's so easy to change appearance with dyes and products now that no one believes people are natural anymore, which is why people get away with hideously unreal pictures.

v There are plenty of them. It'd be hard for me to base on one person.

Huh? People steal other people's photos? Wow...that's pretty stupid I think.

Why would anyone want to look like someone else when they can look like themselves?

    Originality anyone?

Bleh... oh, and is this rant in anyway related to that particular Mibba user? People have been on her case about photo stealing and everything. D:

Anonymiss: Yep, it's usually not hard to pick 'em. They still don't bother me though, because if I can pick 'em, I can avoid 'em.

V Two words- role play. That's why their appearances are so unrealistic. They don't want to be an ordinary person, because that would be too easy. They want to trick people into thinking that they are someone exceptional. I think it's just like a game for them, and if they can get some people to believe that they are a 'character' in the process then it's just more fun.

Who knows? It's a theory. I bet they do it for lots of reasons. Best to ignore, in my opinion.

v BECAUSE IF IT'S NOT SUPER UNREAL, IT'S NOT PRETTY.

I keep having to fend off people who think my eyes - which with flash turn blue and otherwise stay this mossy green - are photoshopped.

Aelf: hmm I guess so. I'm not real keen on the idea of photoshopping pictures, especially when people do it to make their eyes different colours. People who photoshop their eyes green annoy me the most because it's never a normal green, it's SUPERFANTASTICGLOWINGGREEN. I just don't get it. Why do you want to pretend you have radiation eyes?

Anonymiss: That's a good indicator. I'm quite fond of the fake girls who use photos where something is clearly photoshopped and they then respond to photo comments that it's natural.

v I usually know a girl/guy (ESPECIALLY GUY) is fake when they post pictures, get attention, and post no stories/poems.

Stella Astaire: I think some people must see it almost as role-playing, and that's why they steal pictures of people who are either extraordinarily attractive or photoshopped beyond belief.

It seems that most people who use fake photos don't even choose photos that look like they could be an average person. They're always pretending to be some scene superstar or a model or something. For this reason I feel I am too average looking for someone to steal my photos. Although this is a writing site, so I don't post them here because my appearance does not affect my writing, which is what people should be judging me on here. Anywhere else I have no problem posting my own pictures, even if I think there are other people out there better looking than me.

    Doctor: Exactly!

V Ah, if people want to play pretend, you can't stop them. They might do it for lots of reasons besides insecurity, but they do get what they deserve.

You guys assume that someone took my pictures!

No, I'm saying that I really dislike when people do shit for attention.

v That's when you go the route and don't post anything at all.

You know what I think your right about this but, I kind of feel for the girls or guys who may do this..

Before you can post things online, as your real self you've got to love yourself and a lot of people don't I know because I used to be self conciouse but I never post some one else as me..
