saved my life no i'm sorry it calms down my nerves &helps with depression which causes me to have low blood pressure. I when I get really angry & people & i'd do something that sooner or later I'll regret it usually ( music) calms me down & I just try or do forget about it. so you kinda can say it does save my life.

music did save my life, many times over. especially when i find a song that is much the same of what i was feeling, i would listen to it on repeat for hours and know that i wasnt alone, and then found people who liked the same music, and they helped me too.
TEENS ARE'NT DEPRESSED BECAUSE THEY LISTEN TO DEPRESSING MUSIC. THEY LISTEN TO DEPRESSING MUSIC BECAUSE THEY ARE DEPRESSED.
the media has it the wrong way around.
does that make any sense at all??

Personally, I would think that people listen to depressing music more because they are depressed, and not that music actually makes them commit suicide. In some cases, painful music might be a coping mechanism for depressed people, much as cutting may be, to draw a controversial analogy.

What constitutes a depressing song is also highly subjective. A sad song can be empowering to the right person, whereas to someone in a delicate emotional state, music in general might be viewed through a different lens.

That said, I have never been terribly moved by any song. I think though that I am something of a freak in that respect.

Music helps me through everything in life...I've had crap that's happened to me in life that suicide seemed like the only option, but listening to music and the meaning's behind the lyrics helped me. Music's the only thing that calms me when I get upset or mad. So I would say music can save peoples lives.
